Anyone older than 25 remembers hearing that! :D

I just read that VH1 Classic is gonna air the entire first day of MTV programming starting at midnight August 1 and again at 9am on August 5! Gonna have to get lots of videotape for that! I started watching that channel when I was in the second grade right after we had just gotten cable TV. I cant get over how different the channel is today. Do they even show music videos at all anymore???

I saw this just in time to make some tacos and settle in front of the TV for a long night of reliving the glory days of the early 80's.

The Buggle's get a pass... that was picked more a symbolism than content. Then came Pat Benatar... I figured some big investor had a thing for Pat and this was his way of impressing her...

And then came Rod Stewart. That was good because once Rod the Mod takes the stage, you know it can't get any worse...

And then came REO Speedwagon.

The 80's sucked. The worst part is, we were old enough to know better.

We apologize.

MTV sucks anymore. When I first started watching it when they first came out it was 60 min worth of videos with one commercial at the top of the hour.

This is where I first learned of Motley Crue and fell in love with them (I really, really, really liked them, I was only 12 or 13 at the time). http://img209.echo.cx/img209/7932/sc1053tp.gif

Even MTV2 isn't really good. I am a VH1 and VH1 classics fan now. I get to see all of the 80's music videos here.

I have to admit I'm going through an 80s revival in the comfort of my DVD collection. Just bought Top Gun and Karate Kid - things I enjoyed as a sprog. I still enjoy them.

Ah, the 80s - probably the last decade when you could tell what the words were in over fifty percent of song lyrics.

:) No, Kiwi, you aren't.

The 80's rocked. The clothes were a little embarassing, but on the whole, it rocked.

Oh, I don't know, the clothes weren't any more embarrassing than the fashions of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 90s or today...every generation has the right to look silly in their teen years. ;)

Right now, I wish I had MTV, I'll have to ask my brother or someone to tape the show.
