Holy carp! OK, that global warming thing seems like a good idea in February, but next Feb I'll hold off on the "24 hour aerosol derby"

Its 36C today and 47C w/ the heat index... in OTTAWA! Not Texas, not Arizona, Ottawa! If it gets any hotter, I'll have to bring the dogs inside the Igloo. :p

For those interested thats 97F or 117F with the HI.

Anybody else got ridiculous temps going on?

It's 96F here today and about 85% humidity. The guv'nor actually declared a "Heat Emergency" tomorrow is suppossed to be worse. I walk from home to the train everyday, and today on the way home I was stopped 3 times, twice by police officers offering me a ride. Seems a bit silly to me. Yes, it's hot, but its not like I am a 90 year old athsmatic that can't deal with the heat. I'm a young healthy 24 year old.

BTW the walk I take is approx 100 yards. 150 yards if I don't take the semi-illegal shortcut.

It got like that a couple of weeks ago down here. But San Diego is in the desert so it's to be expected sometimes, at least in my area.

Didn't think it got that hot in Canadia though. The penguins and polar bears are probably roasting in the sun, and Santa's probably already died of heat stroke.

97F in Ottawa huh.

NAFTA's a bitch aint it. Canada exports all it's frigid cold air and we export our hot, steamy air. :D

It was going around 40 C here in Edmonton for quite a while. Finallly we caught a break, bunch of rain for the past couple days. Down to a nice chilly 22 C:puke:

We recently endured a 12-day stretch of highs over 100F (we hit over 110 at least twice) and lows never getting below 70F here in Sacramento, California. There were a LOT of heat-related deaths, including one older woman who reportedly became confused and turned on her *heat* rather than her AC.

Man, I love Whitehorse.
~20 degrees, FTW.

Which means moving to Windsor is going to give me heat stroke. Crap-on-a-stick.

BLASPHEMY!!! HEATHEN!!! UNCLEAN!!! ;)

To me, turning off my computer is like shoving a dog in a dark, wet, tiny room. You just don't do that to something you love, unless it's to protect it (thunderstorm)

The weather around here has been what I like to call is the "terrible toos": too hot, too much rain, too little rain, too much sun, too much wind, too much of everything.

It was actually kinda chilly here yesterday it was in the mid to high 70Fs. After a week or two or three of highs of 106F - 112F then 70F is cool. This week it should be in the low 90Fs. We need rain. Lots and lots of rain.

It's drier than a tinder box around here, we are having prairie and forest fires left and right and the Rally starts next week. Luckily all open campfires have been banned in the Black Hills but that isn't going to stop some of the stupider touri and bikers from burning us down anyways.

Us Vancouverites are not use to temps in the high 30s (C)! At least it's a dry heat......

In Vancouver? You're on a freakin island! How do you get "dry heat" When you're surrounded by water?:p

Hey Broom, where in the city are you? I live on the west end.

It was 95F (nearly 100 with the humidity) in Pittsburgh yesterday. What sucks, is that I'll be at work in the air-conditioning..and get nailed with the heat if I step outside. What's worse, is that I don't have a/c at home anymore! It blew up before we went on vacation a month ago and *still* hasn't been fixed  The resulting sauna is enough to give me a migraine and makes it difficult to sleep.

HA! You know there's something wrong when it's hotter in Vancouver than it is in Bangkok!! (29'C here today, but 70% humidity)

Hey it's higher than body temperature!

It was like this last summer. I tell ya what, I'm getting prepared for this come next summer. This fall I'm spending all my spare time stuffing my attic with tons of insulation and drywall panelling and sealing half my windows shut permanently!
