How do you like to waste your cash?

My favorite ways:

Books!! Can't have enough books. I've got books literally all over the place.

Knitting and Crochet supplies--yarn out the wazoo, needles, hooks, patterns

Shoes

Workout DVDs--Lately I've been into Pilates and Yoga

Frappuccinos--I'm addicted to these things!!

How about you?:D

Books, cross-stitching supplies, video games, cheap accessories you can find at Claire's, and CDs.

I love books to, but I would never consider them a "waste" of money!

I waste money on stationary... I LOVE buying pens or paper or post its!

I also waste money on food.... I dont like cheap nasty food, everyone laughs when I make mac n cheese with brie and black forrest ham and organic whole wheat macorini.... oh but they chow it down!!!

Heh...I've got mucho expensive hobbies. Let's see...PC and console gaming sucks up quite a bit (Although now that I work at EBGames and a computer store, I get discounts on games and parts, which helps).

And then there's my tabletop gaming addicition. I've got my weight in assorted RPG and gaming manuals, a Warhammer 40K Tau army, a growing Warhammer Fantasy Brettonian army, a Classic Battletech Northwind Highlanders 'Mech battalion, a few MTG decks and a Battlefleet Gothic Chaos fleet.

And, last but certainly not least, my paintball gear. I'm not even going to start to figure how much money is splattered on trees and people, but I know that my markers, tanks, hoppers and mask are worth close to $2000 already. And then my assorted other gear...and the markers I plan to buy...and the close-to-$2000 I need to save up to go to Oklahoma D-Day next year (Although that's mostly plane tickets)...oi.

Yeah, I need cheaper hobbies.

Current flavor of the month (and most likely the next few months):

Training books on Adobe Creative Suite. :)

iTunes...I'm gonna need a new gift card soon (I refuse to keep a credit card on file with iTunes...too dangerous:rolleyes:...so I buy gift cards instead)

Hershey Kissables...my current addiction. I am a junk-food-junkie. I try to eat healthy but I am a total candy freak. Not so good for my waistline, though. I keep saying I'm working on that...some days it's true...

Treats for Pablo...when I have him visiting I like to take him to Petco and hit the treats bar. He likes the little mult-colored training treats.

I too have books all over the place...a good portion of them do not have covers because working in the bookstore we got to take home stripped books. I also did fiction and new releases so I got first dibs on all the stuff I stripped. If I see something I want to read I try to get it at the library if possible, and then I'll decide if I need to own it. When I move my first purchases will be a big-girl bed and a real bookcase (or 2, ...or 3).

-DVD's and CD's. I have to avoid walking into the HMV at West Edmonton Mall. A two-story music and movie is where I go if I want to make my wallet lighter.

-Eating out. I like to go out and try different foods from different areas of the world. Plus, trying to find a good resturant is a great way to explore the city, and it's interesting to see the diffent styles of food and style that are in a place. (As well, I've been able to find sweet potato fries, pulled pork sandwiches, and eggs benedict that are so good, I've forgotten some childhood memories because of them. :D)

Well I used to spend it on clothing and shoes. However since my best friend is my size and has a closet that leads to Narnia, I get a lot of hand me downs. Heh she ROCKS!!! That and I can borrow pretty much anything I want. *dreams of her Betsy Johnson dress and drools*

The latest thing I spend my extra cash on seems to be boys. I blame that on my friend too, we seem to be sugar mammas but for the right reasons. We go out looking good, we want them looking good too. *weg*

Oh and thrift shops. You'd be AMAZED at what you can find there! I'm on a skirt kick and wow. I've found charlotte ruse, hot topic, anne klein, dkny, wet seal, and a few other well known skirts for dirt cheap. *dances*

Um that and beer/vodka. Can't spell party with out those two. *acts innocent*

~The primary used to be CD's (I've got stacks and stacks, including two baskets full in the car) and now is iTunes. I could live without most things, but music is a need for me.

~Books and comics come in second, I just dropped almost $100 on Amazon for birthday presents to myself, including lots of Neil Gaiman and some comic volumes I was waiting for, like Runaways. :D

~Clothing: this primarily is good deals on designer stuff I covet (most recently, two LAMB hoodies and two pairs of St Grace Carol pants) from places like Nordstrom Rack and Marshalls, and fun kids t-shirts, which I collect.

~Shoes: pretty much all flip flops. I own more pairs than I care to count, the most recent buy are blue with manatees on them. *squee* :D

~Beverages: mostly of the non-alc variety--Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Vitamin Water, Vitamin Energy, and Diet Rockstar. This occasionally includes picking up the tab when we go out, and that usually is comprised of tequila shots, Blue Moon, and the occasional Red-Headed Slut or Jagerbomb.

~Food: I'm with some of the above posters--I like to eat well, especially since I cook in small quantities. I also like to always have quality frozen stuff on hand, just in case.

Magic tricks. Yes, I am a magician, but a lot of the stuff I buy never ends up in my show. This is a common thing with magicians, actually.

Books. Books. Books. Books. More books.

Beer, and other adult beverages. I am, after all, a professional drunk/barfly. :drink:

Food, theirs. I love to eat out.

Food, mine. I love to cook and create new things.

Foodware. I love buying stuff for my kitchen.

Sports apparel....I own way too much Arizona State University and Oakland Raiders gear.

And I am a sunglass ho. Oh am I ever!

I like spending my money on DVD's. plus in 2 weeks I'll be buying a Dale Earnhardt jr diecast car. My most expensive things I buy are herbal medications as I have osteoarthritis in my knees, hips, & back, the usually cost me $150.00 a month. I used to take prescription anti-inflammatories but they started giving me stomach pains big time, plus I found out that long term use of the anti-inflammatories can cause liver problems leading to death.

Frappuccinos--I'm addicted to these things!!

Ditto.

The Sims 2 is my biggest addiction I guess. Everything that comes out for TS2 I get eventually.
I also get all the Resident Evil games and movies. It's an addiction, yes, but sadly years can pass with nothing new. I'm REALLY excited about RE: Extinction!

I save all my change for the parking meters at the beach.

I don't buy as many DVDs as people would think since I work in a video store and get a discount. I'm sure my DVD collection is probably very tiny compared to most people's. I guess it's different when you have it all at your fingertips all the time?

I would like to finish out my Buffy and Angel box sets collection someday though.

~Books: I have so many that I'm running out of space to put them.

~Purses: I can never have too many purses. :D

~Chocolate Chip cookies made at the Wegman's by my house. They are a bit pricey, but so YUMMY!!!! Don't touch my cookie stash! ;)

Most of our disposable income goes towards books. We had over two thousand in our library last I counted. We're running out of space.

I'm a gourmet myself, although my husband is usually fine with cheeseburgers. I make him take me out to a fine dining restaurant with a good wine list about once a month.

But those things aren't a waste in my mind. The biggest waste of money is the almost thirty bucks a week I spend at Starbucks. Ever since one opened near my house, I get a venti cappuccino every bloody day. I really got to cut it out.

New computer hardware. I can't help it, I like to tinker with my computers. :D It's depressing to see the hardware you bought depreciate rapidly, though, plus it always seems that when I buy something new, there's something better to replace it within a week.

Electronic games. Been playing since 1979, and the bug's not gone yet. I can't call it wasting money, though, because I usually wait to buy until it's discounted.

Books - fiction, non-fiction, you name it. I read all the time.

Converse All Stars(both high tops and low tops) - my favorite pair is made from tennis ball material, they are fuzzy neon yellow.

Camera stuff - mostly lenses. I am also a sucker for weird filters to put on my lenses. I love creating strange effects. Also...photography books :D

Computer stuff - photo software, Sims2 stuff, my negative/slide scanner, photoshop books(seeing a pattern?)

Beads - tons of beads, all kinds of beads...I love to make jewelry(also plenty of jewelry books! )

Well, here's what I like to prefer to spend on, not saying they are a waste:

Craft supplies (well, I'm trying see if I can make some money off of my crafts so sooner this will be a necessarity, I use them to make gifts too)
Books (read most of my fiction, only read few of my nonfiction, I'm trying to finish reading a book on mythology)
Magazines (I've subscribe to 8 at one time, don't any more instead just buy then once in a while but I get rid of them after 6 monthes)
DVDs (I usually watch them once, if i'm gonna do that it's better to rent, yes I've done that too, I've brought used too)
CDs (I now pretty have most on my computer with some MP3s I brought, I usually buy the CDs used)
MP3 player (better then taking a bunch CDs and my player with me)
Fitness equipment (I'm now trying to use every piece once a week)
Dog stuff (usually her Christmas gifts but I've brought treats for her but it's been years)
Clothes/accessories (I do have some stuff I wear once a week but I think most I've probably worn once or twice, I'm always messing up something, I've made some stuff too but but rarely wear it)
Makeup/beauty supplies (I have thrown out stuff that I barely use so I need to try to use what I got, I also like to mix up what I go)
Jewelry (I try to wear a few pieces each week and yes, I made some for me)
Sweet treats (I love sugar as well as chocolate but I'm trying to cut back, I've even baked some stuff but I much preferred it to be store brought or from a restuarant)
Tea (Green or sweet is what I prefer, if I'm out I usually get sweet ice tea, if it's available green, I've actually brought case loads of green tea but I now brew it at home becuase it's cheaper not mention it doesn't have added stuff)
Eating out (It's nice to have a nice meal at great place but it can get quite expensive plus Virginia's dine out tax it almost 10 percent)
Wine (I've had a glass when I was eating out once in a while)
Software (I do have one that I haven't really used yet but I have couple that I use sometimes)

I'll admit I have expensive hobbies but I don't consider most of them a waste because when I'm done for the most part I can recoup my money.
I collect firearms and they appreciate in value, some appreciate a lot.
I restore antique and muscle cars. They also appreciate in value.
With hunting if I break even or close I'm happy but I have to be successful and have something to eat afterwords.
I fly RC and that's a definite waste of money but it's fun.
My farming and gardening addiction is very profitable.
My biggest cash drain is my kids and wife. Talk about a money black-hole.
I read alot but I buy most of my books from ebay or local used book stores. The ones I don't intend to reread I sell/trade in at the used book store.
I'll admit it that I'm a slob, I'm also a packrat, I come from a long long line of packrats. Compaired to my wife I'm a amature. Neither of us like to clean so to keep the house in good condition we have a maid in twice a week to do general clean up. I keep the kitchen clean but I just can't stand to vacum, dust, clean bathrooms, change beds, you know general house hold stuff. I can barely tollerate doing laundry (wife and I take turns, the kids wash their own clothes). I also absolutely hate yardwork so I don't do it, if the wife wants a pretty yard then she can keep it up.

Books - I just bought 5 today! I was overcome by temptation, but they were all on sale, so that makes it ok!

Running stuff - gear, books - but I don't consider it a waste since running is my sport/addiction

Clothes, of course :D

Shoes/boots, especially sexy ones with high heels - hey, I'm 5 foot 1, I need all the height I can get!

Earrings, but mostly the cheaper stuff from Claire's - I have so many it's unreal!

I'm trying, mostly with success, to save money, so that when T and I get married and buy a house together, I can spend lots of $$$ on all the things we'll need. The thought of all that shopping just makes me drool!

It used to be books, crafting stuff and fabric, but all that is in storage at home until we settle down somewhere permanently. (sigh)

It is nice that I spend a lot less on books by getting my hubby to download ebooks for me though.

However, I do still spend money on going out for massages and pedicures with the girls (it's quite cheap in Bangkok if you know where to go, but it adds up)

I'm also into food, which gets pretty expensive because a lot of the ingredients I bake with are imported. I have also located a restaurant/bakery supplier that doesn't mind selling to non-business owners so I can get good quality chocolate to cook with. :D

and I may not buy books for myself, but I do still buy lots of children's books for the munchkin! (and hey, I can use them in my classroom too)

I actually started reading this thinking it was easy, books and fabric. They seeing other's responses I realized I was wrong.

Books and comics, I can not go into a book store/comic shop without dropping money it's unreal. Thank goodness for the library

Fabric I can't help myself on this note, it calls to me, I just spent a ton ot Jo-Ann's yesterday cause of their big sale and have a bunch of new purse ideas.

Food-home, I love to cook and the discovery of Fresh Market, Whole Foods, and Alton Brown/Paula Dean have made this a much bigger part of the budget.

Food-out, there is so much in this area that I've never been able to try and I'm loving it. My bf is a foodie and we eat out way to much.

Shoes- (I actually forgot this the first time around) I like shoes, I don't love them but it's close. I have heels and chuck taylor's and flip flops, and sneakers, a huge collection of re-decorated chinese slippers.

Just a reminder to all the short girls out there, something I told my niece's (very short) friend the other day: There are quite a few guys out there that do really groove on short chicks.

No, RW isn't short (she's 5'6"), but that doesn't mean I don't love short chicks in general! And I am definitely not alone. Heels? Not always necessary, (short) ladies. :D

Shoes. I am a shoe whore. I will happily and readily admit it. I love shoes, all shoes -- cute flip flops, tennis shoes, boots, slip ons, heels, anything. I love anything cute. I LOVE my red allstars.

Nails. I'm willing to spend a few a week to keep my finger and toe nails looking nice. I like having pretty and clean nails.

Books. I love books. I am a book worm. And I don't do the library cause I don't like having to return them. (c:

But the number one things I "waste" my money on?

My friends. I like to spoil my friends. Buy rounds. Pay for dinner. Buy presents just because. I joke that I have a job not for me but so I can afford to spoil my friends. And, when I can, I do.
