A thread in Sucky Customers made me start this post, recounting my Friday the 13th. Then I realized it was really OT so I wrote a more pertinent post for that one and came over here for mine. So without further ado...

My Friday the 13th:

I get to work at 8am. By the time I got to my office at, oh, 8:06 (it's a long walk), I wanted to go home and start over.

This morning while getting my bag together I came across my prescription bottle and realized I forgot to take my medicine last night. Which means by early-mid afternoon I will be feeling not well. (Ah, crap! :()

Driving to work I was turning right onto a certain street. There was a bus coming and after the bus it was clear. The bus passed and I was about to step on the gas when the bus stopped not 2 feet past the street I was trying to turn out of. And since I couldn't see past the bus in the other direction I couldn't pull out around it. So I then had to wait for 2 more cars after it moved. (Grrr...)

The bus stopped again a little further down the road. I started to pass it and as I was coming up towards the front of it it started to move. I swerved a bit and of course there was a car coming in the other lane. The bus stopped and in my rear view I could see 2 guys standing very close to the rear door, either just got off or were getting on...so I don't know why the bus made that little move but it startled me and could have caused an accident. (GAH! :pissed:)

As I was walking to the cafeteria to get my morning libation (Diet Coke) and fruit I realized I forgot my lunch. Chinese from last night. I was sad. Luckily I had money to buy lunch, though I keep cereal bars and oatmeal in my desk and had a yogurt in the fridge so I wouldn't have starved, at least. But I ordered Chinese last night just so I'd have some for lunch today. (AAARRRGGHH!!)

Around lunch time, as predicted, I began to feel not well. (I get a little dizzy and queasy and very easily frustrated. By 2 I was ready to throw stuff out the window, if I had a window to throw stuff out of.) So I took my pill around 1:30 so I would hopefully be feeling better by the time I had to drive home, and I also wanted to go for a walk in the park. (I didn't want to take it this morning because I was afraid it would throw me off for tomorrow, since I normally take it at dinner time because it fits best with my schedule and I don't want to end up shifting it too much. So I wait until I start feeling it too much and then I take it and within a few hours I'm fine.) (Whaaa!)

Oh, and my boss annoys me. Not that that has anything to do with Friday the 13th, that's every day, but still. (growl :punch:)

And something (funny-cute) weird...mini-Twilight Zone deja vu sorta thing... I go to a small park that has a lake you can fish in and a small playground, and past the playground a walking trail that goes to the street on the far side of the park and loops around past a cornfield and back through the woods. It's nice and shady (which is why I sometimes like it better than the park near work). I made 2 laps of the loop, and the first time as I was coming down past the field on the other end, I saw a cute little chipmunk run from the grass at the edge of the field, across the trail, and into the woods. On my second lap, at pretty much the exact same spot, I saw a cute little chipmunk run from the grass at the edge of the field, across the trail, and into the woods. I almost wanted to make a 3rd lap to see if he did it again.

And it was a total coincidence that those two lines lined up perfectly like that! (hehe! :p)

I had an okay Friday The 13th, though quite melancholy.

1. I wake up at 9:45. Early as I usually wake up around 10:30 or 11:00 (yes, I'm lazy, and have no job. Ain't it awesome?)

2. I survive my morning shock (I usually get out of bed too fast and end up walking to the living room, where the sun is shining, the TV is blaring, and my vision outlines everything in some weird, shaky black line.) and plod over to the computer.

3. I mechanically open Internet Explorer and FrostWire. For a change, I open AIM to see if my friend is on. He is. We talk about his girlfriend dumping him for another one of our mutual friends. We decide that we don't like said friend very much and make plans to see a movie on Sunday.

4. "Me" time. Which involves reading my latest issue of MAD magazine on the crapper and yelling at things and some other stuff I won't mention here.

5. Lunch. Oh boy, ravioli. Again.

6. More talking with my friend. We talk about music we're lsitening to. Senses Fail for him, John 5 for me. Oh, John 5, how I love your bluegrass metal.

7. Guitar practice. I'm getting better at "Johnny B. Goode".

8. Goddamned telemarketer who can't get a clue calls back and asks for my mom, like every other previous day. At the same time every day. You'd think she would figure out that my mom's not here at that time and call back some other time.

9. Dad's home. Looks like my debauchery time is over.

10. Video games. I get royally pissed at my rousing game of Jak II and nearly have a stroke, since Dad's home, I can't yell and swear and release my fury.

11. Dinner. Dad ruins the brussels sprouts. I love brussels sprouts. No, seriously.
We have creamed corn instead.

12. More video games. Black can suck my balls.

13. More stories from CS and Acts of Gord.

14. There is no 14.

15. I post this.

16. TIME PARADOX.

So aside from my video games being frustrating and me realizing my summer has been terrible, I had a good time.
