Woo-hoo! The doctor added some new foods to my diet! I'm no longer a carnivore! I can now eat cooked vegetables, rice, potatoes, and grahm crackers! And the first thing I'm going to do now, is buy some corn, some potatoes, and a box of grahm crackers. Then I'm going to make corn-on-the cob, mashed potatoes, and steak. Then I'll eat it and have grahm crackers for dessert! Now all I have to do is try to convince my doctor to add chocolate cake to my diet...

No dairy products. At all. Which sucks because I love my hamburger to have cheese on it. Not to mention Cheetos. I want my cheese!

No bread either.

Isn't graham cracker bread. I'm pretty sure that's made with grain and sugar.

I guess. But graham crackers are the only grains I can have. No bread, cereal, pasta. Just graham crackers. Now, if only I can convince them that chocolate is actually a necessity for everyday life...

If you grill your corn on the cob right in the husk, it tastes 10x better than boiled in a pot. The husk keeps in moisture and it helps kind of carmelize the sugar in the corn, so it tastes even sweeter. Make sure you leave at least 3 layers of husk on, and it is ok if it (husk) burns black. I also recommend using McCormick's Salt & Spice seasoning instead of just plain salt. It gives the corn a bit of a kick (not spicy, just better flavor).

Oh, and chocolate is a necessity. It has lots of antioxidants (dark chocolate anyway) and is good for your heart!

:grats: on getting new items added to your diet! It's always nice to expand the menu a bit.

And FuzzyKitten's right about the corn. :)

Congrats on the new additions to your diet. I agree with Fuzzykitten about the grilled corn. When I grill it, I peel back the husk, remove the silk, add butter, pepper and garlic salt, then put the husk back in place and grill. It is the best taste of summer. :D

No dairy products. At all.

Will the doctor be adding dairy eventually? Graham crackers are even better with cold milk.

Graham crackers are good with grape jelly :p

You are allowed to have butter on your corn on the cob, right? I haven't had it yet this year...we're having it tomorrow. I can't wait...dripping with butter and a sprinkle of salt...yummy. I'm a Jersey Girl...gotta have my Jersey Corn!

You can have corn without butter. A couple of days ago, we bought some fresh corn from a farmer's market. Hubby boiled it for a couple of minutes, and it was the sweetest corn I have ever tasted. It didn't need butter, salt or anything else. Just don't husk it until right before you cook it, and all the natural sugars will be preserved.

I can't really have butter. It's dairy. That doesn't mean that I can't have butter substitutes like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!
