Who is all done with there kids back to school shopping?
Now, I am going to take my lawn chair and place it at the end of the aisle at WalMart, I want to see all the mothers try to kill each other trying to get the last pack of pencils.

I finished my kids' shopping!!! Wait.
Hmmm.
I have no kids. :D Nuts, I was feeling proud there for a second. At least I have my own done, except for textbooks. Ouch, my wallet hurts just thinking of those.

I will be done on Monday! Of course, my BTS shopping will be done at the school, since all I have to buy the munchkin is two new uniform shirts. One nice thing about working for a private school- all supplies are bought for the kids- by the school!
I will thinking of those of you having to suffer through BTS SC's while I'm organising my classroom.

Well, good luck to all of you... I don't have to worry about that now, but give me about 5 1/2 more years

I have 95% of the Sprog's uniform bought. She still needs a new school hat and hatband, gloves, socks, a ballet crossover (cr*p, I was supposed to order that from the school office this morning), school shoes, trainers, ballet shoes, ballet socks, wellies....Plus I have to sew name tags in EVERYTHING.
I'm nearly there though. Plus, her school launders all the games kit for us, so I only have to wash her uniform, not tons of muddy games kit ! Hooray !

Heh, I still haven't finished my college shopping. Luckily, I got a fridge and microwave that I can use in my dorm as graduation gifts. Those are big ones. Now I just need clothes, and to call my roommate for the first time. Just found out who it was Saturday but I didn't have a chance all Sunday to call him because I was working the longest shift of the year at my summer job.

The school does her laundry, so everything that will get washed at school (including socks) has to have name tags. All her ordinary uniform has to be named because small children - and indeed, quite big ones - have an amazing propensity for losing items of clothing. If her name is in everything, there is at least a faint chance they will make it back to me. Her school pinafore dresses are £27 ($51 !!!!) EACH, I don't want to have to buy too many of those.

This past weekend my state (Tennessee) had our first sales-tax holiday it started Friday and ran thru Sunday. From what I understand it was something akin to Black Friday. The wife took all two smallest kids shopping Friday and bought all their school uniforms plus some play clothes. The older kids turn was Saturday. I haven't added it all up as of yet but I'm thinking with the new clothes and computers it's going to top out around $5K. All the kids got new laptops. I really don't think an 8 and 12 year-olds need new Sony laptops. The college aged kids really need them and sonny (16) says more of his peers are using them than not.
Now considering I actually use/service computers everyday do you think I was consulted on what to buy? No my lovely and tallented wife (who own's a landscaping, nursery firm) was the expert involved. The sole criteria was it's big and it's real expensive.
I guess I really don't need that hip-replacement surgery as the doctor suggested. According to the wife I still have few more years before they'll have to shoot me like a lame horse.

Tanasi, yikes!! An 8-year-old with a $1200 laptop?? Wow, I'm getting to be an old geezer babe in my...well, old age...but that just sounds way outta line to me. Maybe a single computer for the younger kids to share, then one each for the college kids, but...wow. Just wow.
Spiffy....:salute: :super: Well done!! Don't forget to hit all of us worldly old farts up for help with your coursework. :D For some reason I'm thinking of the "Kids in the Hall" skit where the two "musicians" end up cooking and eating their BAs because they're unemployed and hungry... ;)

Thanks. It's a little bit weird, because they had originally rejected me because my previous GPA was too low. I just wish they'd have let me know more than a month before classes start...
And I love that skit-especially when they turn on the TV to warm the goo on the screen, and the ad for a steak comes on. Oh, Kids in the Hall, how I love thee...

I took the oldest outlast night just to get the pens, pencils, paper and backpack type stuff. $91 freakin' dollars! OMG! I still have to buy for the middle one. Atleast I only have the two this year. Next year I will have one in Jr. high and two in elementary. Shoot me now!
