Damn near T-boned this stupid woman who pulled *right out in front of me* while making a turn at an intersection. :rant: For reference, this took place in a VERY rural area, on a looooooong stretch of straight road where drivers routinely do 60 mph or better (and in fact, I was going 60 myself). The weather was clear as a bell and there wasn't any other traffic around, and it wasn't late at night (about 7-ish pm), nor was the turn area situated so far behind the cornfields that visibility would have been a problem.
If she had been any slower in making her turn, or had pulled out a few seconds later when I was past the point of no return, I'd have nailed her head-on for certain. As it was I had to slam on the brakes and swerve into the other road to avoid clipping her tail end.
Didn't notice if she was on a cell phone or not (maybe not, since she was just staring dumbly at me when I made my at-best 5-foot clearance between her vehicle and mine), but if she was...surely there is a special place in hell for such people. Pure stupidity like that sends me into frothing fury. (And yes, this is VASTLY toned down than from what I posted to my personal journal.)
