Around 4a.m last night, my mom brought my dad into the ER because he was feeling some chest discomfort. The doctor was quick to say that it WAS NOT a heart attack, but they were concerned about his blood levels.

Apparently he's in good spirits and cracking lame jokes, as per his idiom, but it just sucks that I'm so far away and I can't be there with him.

Sunday can't come soon enough.

Might be unstable angina. Signs can be VERY similar to a heart attack (tightness of the chest), the only thing it's lacking... tingling in the left arm.

My doctor asked me if I knew what was happening if I felt tingling in my arms.. I responded (definately not an angina attack).

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds like he'll be ok though :)

My dad once woke up at 5am with chest pains. They went to the hospital and did all the tests and found nothing wrong. Apparently it was stress from the rehab facility "losing" my grandmother the day before (she had knee surgery and was to be transferred to one facility, and at the last minute they sent her to the other one but they neglected to tell my parents before they got to the place after work and she wasn't there!); they kept him a few days as a precaution but he was fine. Fingers crossed that your dad will be too :)

hugs!!

My thoughts are with you and your dad.

Earlier this year my dad went to the doctor's because he'd been having dizzy spells. His blood pressure was so high that they though he was having a stoke and he was rushed into hospital in an ambulance. He's on medication (like the rest of the hypertense family) and is okay now.

With all the time my dad has spent in the hospital over the years and even the last 5 years I understand how you are feeling. Good luck to both you, him, your mom and the rest of family. I hope he's out and driving you guys nuts in no time.
