A week or so ago I went to the doctor to get rid of some stuff on my foot (it wasn't athlete's foot but it was something similar) and any I was put on some antibotic, another medicine as well as some expresive cream.
Well, yesterday I started getting some kind rash and I didn't realize it until I go to work (I wasn't even suppose to be there the girl who was on that shift is now in hospital). I tell you it was driving me crazy and I just wanted to do something about it but I couldn't.

Anyway I went home around 8:45 and I showed it my mom. We try to figure out what it was and if like went out side.
Then figure it how to do with antibotics I was taking and that maybe I took some too close. Anyway I didn't any meds that night but I did put that cream on the affective area and hope it works. Well, it didn't work and this morning it was worse then it was before.

So my mom called the medical center we usually go to and they said to come in like now since they weren't going to be there for to long. So my mom and me get dress then when to the center.
Anyway it turns out I was allergic to the antibotic which was some type of penniculin (bad spelling) and they gave me some meds then a shot.

They also I needed to rest for a couple days (tomorrow I'm off anyway) and that I should not go into work that day (I was suppose to do work from noon to like 8 today).
Anyway after we took care of that and got a note we went to my work place since it was down the road not to mention we had hard time contacting them.

Anyway the SM was there and she took one look knew I wasn't up to work in another hour or so.
We talked about how this happen and gave her the doctor's note she was understandable.
We also told her that I might not be up to working on Tuesday but if that happens to contact them early in the day.

So here I am sitting at my computer with redish bumps all over me and trying not to scratch but I tell you that's the hard part. The fun part the docter says it's going to get worse before it's getting better and oh, boy I just can't wait for that happen.

Redish bumps? Maybe it's chicken pox?

And also, that was extremely hard to read. :(

Thanks Ree for spliting that up it's much easier to read and sorry about that. Anyway it's not chickpox since I had that when I was like seven and during Easter too (what my luck). It's not just redish bumps but also red blotchy areas on my arms and if that's not bad it my arms feel like they are burning. Hey, tell ya it's bit of pain to use but I"m trying to keep my hands busy so I don't get the ugre to scratch the spots that itch the most.

Im allergic to a few kinds of penicillin as well, and i can confirm the symptoms - big red blotches :(
Its not so much an allergy as not being resistant enough - some people dont fight it enough, so it carries on working and generally messes everything up.

I'm allergic to penicillin. It sounds like you had an anaphylactic reaction to the antibiotic you were prescribed.

The medicine they gave you for the reaction was probably Benadryl or another antihistamine along with some epinephrine.

Hopefully they've changed your antibiotic and noted the sensitivity on your medical records.

I've got tonsilitis right now (had it enough times that I can self-diagnose myself sometimes) I get to go to the doctor tomorrow to get some antibiotics for it. Hopefully this time the doctor actually checks my chart for allergies before he writes the Rx...

What is anaphylaxis?

Anaphylaxis is a sudden, severe, potentially fatal, systemic allergic reaction that can involve various areas of the body (such as the skin, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, and cardiovascular system). Symptoms occur within minutes to two hours after contact with the allergy-causing substance but, in rare instances, may occur up to four hours later. Anaphylactic reactions can be mild to life threatening. The annual incidence of anaphylactic reactions is about 30 per 100,000 persons, and individuals with asthma, eczema, or hay fever are at greater relative risk of experiencing anaphylaxis.

sorry to threadjack but misinformation is the enemy....

Found out my DD was allergic to sulpha drugs when she broke out in a fine, light pink rash and her allergic reaction to ampecillin was large red dots. She didn't like it when I called her "Dottie" with a really bad Scottish accent.

Is there such a thing as a bad Scottish accent?
