I was out running yesterday at around 5:45am when I got clipped in the arm by a truck. It just slapped my arm, just stung. I went another half mile and some asswipe really whallops my arm, hard. I was running against traffic and I was on the side of the road where the grooves are. There is no sidewalk or shoulder, most of Oak Grove is like this. He is coming fast and I think that I sidestepped, but not fast enough. He never stopped so I couldn't get his license down, besides I didn't have anything to write with/on. He didn't even move over after hitting me, it is like I wasn't even there, and I know that he saw me. There were two other drivers in front of him that moved and the sun was up. My shoes are reflective and I was wearing white socks and sweat band and an off white running bra, I know that he saw me. He hit me pretty hard with his mirror and I hope I broke the damn thing. :censored::censored::censored::rant:
My arm is bruised now, the swelling went down, but it is still sore. I finally dug out my reflective vest and am now wearing it in the mornings. I go out at 4:30am to beat the sun and heat, it is cooler and I kinda like seeing nature waking up. I live in a military town and the traffic is worse at this time than any other time of the day.
I'm only running for another day or two then it is a rest day before my 5K race on Saturday. I might run Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday is my surgery date.
