Okay, for awhile, they quit sending me the actual withdrawl form when a student left the uni. I convinced them to start sending them to me, they're useful, for more things then entertainment.
But, for entertainment sakes, here's some highlights.
Reasons for Withdrawls
"Do not feel like I fit in coming in ass (scribbled out ass) as a transfer student."
"I won't be running next year, and the reason I came was to run, also finances."
"Just to try something different."
"Academic Suspension" GPA .23
"Frustrated"
"Working - will return"
"The school is just not fer me"
"Not doing soccer, going home."
"Getting married" (This is a guy..)
"Need to live in ***** for my duties as Miss Rodeo *****"
"immature peope, inconsiderate people, bad teachers, bad equine program, the list goes on"
"people have be really rude and some of the fun have been taken out of school"
"I was just unhappy here"
More as students withdrawl!

these sound just as fun as the letters I used to sneak a peak at when i worked in the academic assistant's office. The people who wanted to be let back in the school had to write these long letters why they were kicked out and why they should be let in. Only one guy that I know of got back in with his letter and actually did what he said he'd do. The rest just went back to their old habits. Ah, I miss reading those =3

Ah, yes, the lovely withdrawal forms.
It is that time of the year again, isn't it? You've pretty much covered the reasons I've seen so far this year, Technical.Angel, but if I come across any goodies, I'll be sure to share!
<small hijak> It is also the time of the year for freshman to realize they may need to register for fall classes . . . its not like they haven't had since April to do it! <end hijak>

Aw, man...that means it's also time for the sob stories of why the student thinks they didn't deserve that "F" they earned.
In that vein, I received an anonymous text message requesting an Incomplete because of a family emergency. Derr...and just who am I supposed to do that for?? (the phone number was blocked from the caller ID)

I used to get that all the time at the college. Students leaving messages asking for something with no identifying information in them.

I'm going to turn on call screening for the Helpdesk Voicemail when (if) we switch it over to the new voicemail system. Maybe if the voicemail system is asking the person for their name, more students will give it.

Well, someone hasn't been telling students that these are my primary source of entertainment.
I finally got one today that gave me a little giggle.
"transfering to *** College to be closer to My ROTC. The drive sucks."
In the same bunch, I have one lucky girl moving to Flordia. Sigh.

Egads, I hate it when I quote myself!
That was last August...I just had 2 (so far) that I've had to explain to them exactly how they earned their "Fs" this Spring semester.

So... is a withdrawl when someone tells you they're leaving with a southern accent?
:p
