So I got an iPod Shuffle today.
GK, I hate you with a passion that burns like a million zillion suns.
I'm trying to fill it with upbeat crazy music. So, I need suggestions.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

What are you exercising for? I have done a little bit of working out for weight loss rather than endurance or strength building, and you do that at a lower heart rate. In this case, some of my workout music is too fast and makes me struggle to keep the RPM's or whatever down.
Find a small selection of music, work out, find out which stuff works for you. Find the BPM of that music, and seek out other music with the same BPM.
when im on the elyptical I listen to trance music (techno kind of stuff)
the faster the better www.letsingit.com has heaps of lists/top 40 stuff

Whenever I worked out, the music always going on was stuff like ACDC, Black Sabbath, Metallica, etc. You got the idea. Hard stuff that will keep you pumped up. Maybe it's because I was working out for football that we had that music going on but it pumped me up for lifting.

Don't be a hater TA
First you get the shuffle, and blame me, then you go to strangers (just kidding guys, you know you're like family) for music suggestions. I'm hurt, really I am.:p

Having an ipod is the BEST thing when your excersising.
I love to crank it loud and just zone out from my surroundings. Not sad stuff either, up-beat techno/dancey type stuff. I don't know what your taste in music is, but here's a few of my fave songs I play when at the gym.
Clubland 4 - 'You've been cheating and telling me lies'
Delerium & Sarah McLachlan - 'Silence'
Black Eyed Peas - 'don't phunk with my heart'
TV Rock Feat. Seany B - 'Flaunt It'
4 Strings - 'Take me away'
Freestylers - 'Push up'
Io - 'Rapture'
And lots of songs by Dj Tiesto and DJ Sammy

Yoiu should be hurt, you made me spend $70 I wouldn't have if you hadn't gone flashing around YOUR shuffle. "Look at me, I'm GK, I have a Shuffle and that makes me cooler than cool. I have a toy that YOU DON'T!!"
Well, :p
I was looking for a CHEAP toy like mp3 player, and was a little surprised not to find one. Walmart had a $49 and a $39 mp3 player. The $39 was larger than I wanted, and the $49 didn't come with a carrying case, unlike the 1gig version of the same. They were also both AAA powered. So I decided shuffle.
So, Miss Mistress of the Known Universe, do YOU have any music suggestions?

I want everything!! ;)
I want to get rid of this bike tire around my tummy and the extra bits that attached themselves to my butt and thighs. I also want to get a little bit of upper body strength built up, and I want to be able to ski when lesson time comes up.
Thanks for the list Comi, I'll track those down tonight!

well, i tend to listen more to the newer bands when I'm working out. I try to find stuff that has a good influence. Like:
Shinedown - I dare you
Disturbed - Stricken
Puddle of Mudd - Control
Ya, know, stuff that has kind of an attitude about of "won't back down, and never quit" ;)

A few humble suggestions from my workout-music rotation:
"Devil's Haircut" - Beck
"Ray of Light" - Madonna
"Breathe" - The Prodigy
"Go" - Pearl Jam
"Let Me Entertain You" - Robbie Williams
"Thunderstruck" - AC/DC
"Leave Home" - The Chemical Brothers
"Bootylicious" - Destiny's Child :D
Basically, if it makes you wanna move - then it's a good workout song. ;) Enjoy!

*digs out old MP3 CD player, eh*
I listen to a lot of wrestling music and the like, and I like Fozzy and John Cena for my workouts. Also, if you can get your hands on a copy of "Booyaka 619" by P.O.D., that music is AWESOME.
I get all my MP3 music from http://www.gomusic.ru/ for insanely cheap...I've bought entire CDs off it for a dollar. Granted, you have to pop like, $30 in to start, but then that money is there and it stays there, and I got a deal where after I use up my 30, I get 30 more downloads for free. Not to mention they have everything from Elvis to Iggy Pop to Def Leppard to Evanesence and everything in between, AND some (a few, at least) audio books as well. I've got about 225 songs from it and still have seven dollars left to play with. /shill

Hmm music for TA to work out to. Best I can do right now, is grab a song list that I had before I got the Shuffle. Now I just set up a couple of Smart Play lists in iTunes, and let it load the Shuffle.
Well I can give you part of the list. Some of it is a little on the "retro" side:
"De-Pressed" KHZ
"Godlike-Doglike" KMFDM
"Thunder Kiss 65" White Zombie
"Everything's Cool" Pop Will Eat Itself
"Sin" Nine Inch Nails
"Assimilate" Skinny Puppy
"Du Hast" Rammstein
"Supernaut" 1,000 Homo DJ's
"Stimata" Ministry
Enjoy your workout. Don't pull anything.
