I made an appointment today at 12:50pm to meet up with a building manager to view an apartment for rent....20 minutes drive out there!

12:40 I get to the appartment and hes not there so I wait 10 minutes then give him a ring

hes sitting in his blooming office SIGNING up someone to rent the very apartment I had an APPOINTMENT to view:eek:..... he wont come down, he wont buzz me up, he freaking well hung up on me!! (I was polite if a little shocked and frustrated...)

This is after I called him every single day over the last 3 days, and twice today, thats right the last THREE days asking to view the apartment and hes "I cant make it today Im too busy" (its perfect, 5 minutes walk to work $650 a month 2bedroom ground floor) and he finally settles for a time and then bloody well give the thing away!!

he cant let me see it, but a lady who walked in off the street can swoop in! (he told me she was there when he got there, so he showed it to her)

after three or four calls (im still to angry to think straight) he says come back tomorrow at 1pm he has another open for view then.... but he might be able to show me at 1pm, it could be anytime between 1-5pm (not so perfect but I have to rent from that building away because its the only place you can rent in the suburb where my new job is!) so now my entire afternoon tomorrow is gone sitting around waiting for this goon

WTF!!!! he sounded drunk, he was slurring his words and getting all confused, repeating the same sentance a couple of times over, I asked him if I come back was he going to rent out the other place (1 bedroom, 3rd floor $625 a month) before I get a chance to see it? he didnt get what I meant, until I pointed out that, this was exactly what had JUST happened

you can bloody bet I will be at his doorstep at noon tomorrow and I wont leave until I get to see the stupid apartment!!

I stood there with my jaw gaping and steam coming from my ears.... thanks for calling me you jerk!! next time Ill just waste all that petrol and a couple of hours of my time to not even get to see your bloody face

ARRRRGHHH I NEED THAT APARTMENT!!!! (the viewing was just a formality I was going to take the damn thing anyway!!):pissed:

Looking at the housing market right now, I have decided to crash at a friends place if I ever have to move out of my parents house. I will then install a hitch on my car and buy a well insulated camper (Winters here are a PITA) and live behind the store I work at. (Wal-Mart lets customers camp there, why can't I?) I can go to my friends place or the local truck stop for showers and I can do laundry at any number of places. I can get a 10'x10' climate controled storage spot for about $60-70 a month where I can store my stuff. I'll save my money until I can buy a large chunk of land west of town and have water, power, and cable run out there. Then I can build my own firing range.

Hmm, do you REALLY want an apartment with a building manager like that?

I'd rather sleep in a cardboard box.

I have to get an apartment, he runs the only apartment buildings in that suburb

they were built to house the employees of my new job

its a 20 minute car ride 40min-1hour bus ride EACH way if I cant live out there

Im going to see him again at 1 today hopefully he will have his head screwed on right this time

Just got back, my wonderful boyfriend didnt bring any of his information !!! ARGH frustration!! So hes running back with it right now.

the building manager wasnt drunk, just VERY DEAF with a thick scottish accent who would randomly hang up on people half way through a sentance... nutjob! we were practically YELLING at him and repeating everything we said twice

he had two apartments that he showed us, we had to put a security deposit down for the one we wanted (we get it back if we arnt approved) so we could only apply for the second one, 2 bedroom 3rd floor

there are 2 other people ahead of us in line but apprently the first couple's credit wasnt good enough.... so heres hoping we get it, he did say he liked the fact we didnt both work for the same place and thought we had a good chance.

fingers crossed guys we really need to get in to this building!

Ugh-I know what you're going through: I'm in the process of trying to find a place to live, and it sucks! Any places that are cheap are either way out in the sticks, or only suitable for shooting up heroin. Grrr...

yeah the first apartment we check out was 1 TINY bedroom, basement, dirt cheap and dirty as hell

the current tenants are smokers and it would take me 50 million litres of fabreeze and a steam cleaner to get rid of that smell

2nd apartment was smoke free and 3rd floor so we can steal heat from the lower apartments in winter hehehe

ARGGGGHHHHHHH FRUSTRATION!!!!!!

kyle rang this morning to check if our application had been accepted and described us as "the girlfriend and boyfriend who applied for the 3rd story appartment in *name of street*, we were just wondering if we were sucessful?"

he told him we were "good" and when kyle asked for clarifcation the building manager said "you have the apartment", kyle hung up before I got him to check that our names were the people who got the apartment... just to turn up on the 1st at 9am to pay our first months rent and get the key...

so I rang back this afternoon to check because of how dopey this guy has been before

the STUPID IDIOT didnt know what apartment I was talking about !!!!!!!

I said "Im just ringing to check on the status of our application, kyle *lastname* and kiwi, 3rd story apartment on *street name*, do you know if we got the apartment or not yet?"

he said he didnt manage apartments on that street....and he couldnt remember anyone applying for it and he wasnt sure waht I was talking about

so I check that 1. he did manage apartments (yes) 2. he managed that apartment complex (yes) did he have a 3rd story apartment that people applied for .... that he was confused at.... which of the 3 buildings...

he was really polite this time but kept asking me "are you trying to apply for apartments? what do you need?"

ARRRGHH IM GOING TO POP A BLOOD VESSEL:pissed:

kyle wouldnt ring back today because he didnt want to confuse the guy more.... I dont think thats possible, its like hes had a labotomy

we need to know because its getting really late in the month to find an apartment if we cant get this one....:banghead:

:censored: for heavens sake, if your so deaf or dumb that you can not remember which apartment buildings you manage or which ones are for rent or HEAR PEOPLE on the blinking phone then DONT manage buildings

the sad part is if we get the good news that we HAVE gotten the apartment, I still have to sleep at night knowing this nightmare is my building manager...

ugh
