So this weekend I went on the most awesome outing ever.

A pirate themed river boat cruise. :D

It had actors dressed to the hilt, sword fighting and drunken brawling for our enjoyment. There were Pirate wenches as far as the eye could see-I even got put in the stocks!!! However, it was 40 some odd degrees...and that was before we hit the water. Brrr!

Shiver me timbers it was fun!

Ironically, though I work at a pirate bar (two of them, really, of different degrees) won't be working there today. Filling in at the magic bar for Frank, who is out of town this week.

I must say, though, that some of the swinger's pirate "costumes" were quite......interesting. Yeah, yeah, that's the word....."interesting."

I've been talking like one the entire day, getting weird looks from my professors and a few of my friends. My roommates wouldn't let me take the mixer attachments so I could be Captain Hook. :cry:

I went in yesterday and said "Yarr" to everyone...then I wrote "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" on the white board in the office (and sent everyone a wikipedia link). Someone wrote on the board: "Avast! Man your databases, men, there be bad barcodes about!" (which, admittedly, is funnier if you actually work in my office. :))

I printed out one of the flyers, hung it on the door at work, wore my skull and crossbones bandana and my pirate beads. For awhile I was saying, "Welcome aboard!" and "ARRR MATEY!" to all my customers... but they just seemed, well, scared... so I stopped.
Plus the bandana started itching my head after awhile.

Nay, me and another guy from my office got the WHOLE buiding in the mood! We even had our prim and proper boss(on "casual" day, meaning we can wear jeans-she wears 6 in heels with them) In on it. I found a pirate speak translator and all of our emails were in pirate. There is something sweet about seeing a little old lady walk around in an eye patch!
