I know it's early, but stock is limited and I think it's a good trend to start.

(I buy one for myself each year, too).

That's cool. I have a stash of presents for Christmas (little stuff - picked up a few things for my parents while I was in Rhode Island) and I've had my dad's birthday card sitting in my stationery drawer for months! (I had to get it and I figured either I'd forget or it wouldn't be there anymore if I waited.) :)

We also bought a present when we were in NH (no tax and no shipping, plus my parents will wrap it for us!). ;)
It's a Fisher Price crocodile that comes with little animals in clear boxes. The funny thing is that the crocodile EATS the animals then you open it's back to get them out. It will go well with the farm we got him for his christening, it has farm animals in the same small boxes so the crocodile can also eat the pigs, cows, sheep...:roll:

What else should he expect from his aunt and uncle in south Florida! :D

My nephew received a set of coins from an elderly relative on his first birthday. He was also given scads of toys from various aunts, uncles etc. He didn't want to play with any of them, he only wanted the coin set. He even cried when my sister tried to take it away from him.
He spent the entire afternoon clutching it and showing it to everybody with a huge grin on his face.
So it may well be an even better gift than you think. ;)

That's a great idea. It's a good way to get kids started on an educational and interesting hobby. :)
