I dig vintage hats, tho I have nothing to wear them with. I found this one at junk shop and it is my all time favorite. Green is my favorite color!!! Anyway, I can't seem to figure out how the heck it supposed to sit on my head. Obviously I don't have the "right" hair style..but I don't know how to do my hair to fit it. It looks like it might be from the early 40's...what do I know. Does anyone have any suggestions on how it should be worn? OR where might I go to have it reshaped (to me it seems a little off, but that may just be the style). I figured SOMEONE on here must have some information. Someone always does!!

Anyway, its got a brim on it, which I can't tell if it should hug the head (like a cloche). Right now it doesn't. It sticks out more on one side making me wonder if this is supposed to be worn asymestricly. There is also a comb sewn into the brim, to aid with keeping it in place. The sides are notched but I can't tell if my ears are supposed to fit in there or not. THe back is cut out in what appears to be a way to accomodate a bun or "up" hair. In the back near the tag there are holes from the hat pin, though it didn't have the pin when I bought it.

Any help would be great! I've spent hours searching and either I'ma complete tard or I'm not using the right keywords. If I could ever figure out more about the era and how to wear it, I could set on finding an outfit to match. Thanks!!

K, because I can't get them to attach, please just look on myspace. Its under the album convieniantly titled "Hat Pics for CS Forum Users". (And laugh at my other pictures too if you feel so inclined).
