So the new patch came out and DH installed it on the laptop.
Problem. He took the laptop today and didn't do the update on the home computer.

I want to play, but don't know how to do the update.
I go to log-in and it says "failed to apply the patch", which is the SAME message I get everytime there is a patch.

I hand the laptop to DH and he fixes it. For some reason he can't help me over the phone.
I am so sad. I want to play!!

Ok, logged into my kid on the computer.
I think it's working, but of course, it's taking forever.

The newest patch is pure evil. It forced me to update all my interface add-ons; some of which I really didn't want to update because I don't LIKE the newer versions. And it took hours before all my settings were right again...

There are still weird little bugs lingering and I don't know if they are server-based or interface-based. Sometimes when I move stuff from my bags to the bank the stuff doesn't show in the bank and I have to /reload. A couple of other small nuisances like that.

Check the Support or Technical or Server forums. They always have a mirror back-up of someone's personal site. Those official mirrors are BS.

2.2 patch = Death!

It completely screwed me over. I can't play at all due to intense lag. Of course, I find out that this is due to the new sound engine they implemented for Voice Chat. Blizzard refuses to work with willing Creative Labs devs to implement a hotfix. Blizzard's answer to this whole mess is to either go without sound at all in game, or use a sound card or onboard sound that work with their crappy engine.

I play other games, spent over 100.00 on this X-FI card, and Blizzard wants me to do something to fix this mess on my end.......

So yeah, I just basically gave Blizz a huge middle finger and cancelled. I'm tired of their support and them not giving a crap about their community. The forums over there are a huge mess.

It makes me so sad. :( I loved that game, and now it is no more for me. What am I going to do to hold me over at 3am now? sigh.

Guild Wars? No monthly fees, and the first chapter can be picked up pretty cheap. It's also decidedly pretty.

Actually Raps, I have Guild Wars already. Haven't fired it up in quite some time though. I was actually thinking about picking up one of their recently released expansions and putting some time into it. Might just have to look into it seeing I have the next 2 days off.

I was hoping to get into the Hellgate London beta. I pre-ordered it, but am still awaiting a download link.

Sorry for going a bit Off Topic here....:o
