View Full Version : I got mugged

I can't believe it. I was walking home from work tonight and I got mugged by five teenage hoodlums on bikes.

I was just telling everybody at work today that I'm not the least bit afraid to walk home -- especially on a Saturday night -- because it's only three blocks along the main street in the city. It's a well-lit, heavily traveled street at any hour.

It's very depressing. I wouldn't be telling all of you about it, except the one thing that was stolen was my cell phone, which happens to be my only phone. So, there's pretty much no one else to talk to.

I'm really sorry. The irony is sick, isn't it? I moved into a........borderline......I really don't want to say it but.......somewhat ghetto neighborhood of appartment complexes, and I told myself if I keep to myself and mind my own business, no one would bother me. I got the scare of my life one night last week, I walked down the stairs into the back (where the parking lot for tenants is) and there was a tall, creepy thin man standing right next to my car, smoking a cigarette and looking extremely suspicious. Lucky for me, as soon as I got into my car and locked myself in, he walked away. It was the strangest, most random, most CREEPY thing I'd experienced living here so far.

Invest in some pepperspray, or take some self defense classes. Don't be paranoid, but always be aware of your surroundings.

I hope you can get a replacement and contact your cell provider so that you aren't charged for anything the hoodlums do.

I'm okay... a little shook up. I'm a little slow at typing... the only injury I got was a nasty cut on my finger.

It was bizarre. I was just minding my own business, when all these kids on bikes surrounded me. They kept asking for money and stuff. Everytime I tried to walk away, I'd get cut off by a hoodlum-wanabee on a bike.

So, I took out the cellphone to call 911. The leader of the pack decided to wrestle me for it. I got the cut when he finally pulled it away from me.

I managed to duck into an all night restaurant and called the police. Apparently, these kids have nailed at least two other people tonight.

Thanks. They're using my cell phone... leaving behind a paper trail of numbers they called and who's called them back. So, I called the police back... and found them spectacularly uninterested. I can't figure that one out.

I almost got burglized. Dude high as a freaking kite KICKED our front door in, demanding to know where David was. (No david lives there... I have a friend named david but he was living in texas at the time) He was my height and weight, but I manage to hold him on long enough for the cops to come. Funny thing was, that was the only fight I've been in where nether threw a punch at each each other, and he could have EASILY maim me, but he didnt. Cops came, guns out on him. He said he was sorry. My mom came, he siad he was really sorry and crying.

First off, TNT, glad to hear you're all right. Relax, eat something you really like, have a drink if that's your thing...just unwind for a day or two.

Secondly, at least from what I've seen, when it's a simple property theft, the police report goes to the bottom of the pile, sadly. When - and I think it will happen - someone gets hurt by these wastes of skin, then the cops will pay more attention. Maybe a tip to your local newspaper or TV station could light a fire - if, as you said, they work a certain area there should be plenty of concerned citizens available for quotable moments. ;)

I got mugeed once...right at work!

I was coming in for a 5 am shift and I noticed a couple of kids walking through the parking lot. I paid no attention to them.

Then, when I got up on the curb near the doors, they stopped me and demanded my wallet. One of them punched me in the jaw. It was the hardest I've ever been hit in my life. I was convinced he'd broken my jaw.

I gave them my wallet and they ran off. I then went inside and had 911 called, and they ended up catching the kids. It turned out they had gone on a crime spree that entire night, even beating a guy to near death with a tire iron. Both kids went to prison, and I heard one of them died while in jail.

And what did they get from me? Five measley bucks.
