the title is supposed to say for sorry i goofed

On friday I am going on a business trip to Arizona, and will be staying in a hotel so I was wondering what is considered a good tip for the people that handle your luggage.

Also what about the people who clean your room? Is a daily tip required or should I leave one big tip at the end.

Anyone comments are appreciated. :D

$2 to $5 is good for your luggage. 2, they'll say thank you. 5, they'll probably remember you.

I'd leave the same amount daily for the maid. You may have different people clean your room on a daily basis and don't want to leave a big tip at the end for someone who only cleaned the room that day. Word travels fast in housekeeping about who the tippers are. If you have the same maid each day, she'll definitely remember the tip from the previous day and be extra careful and probably leave you more extras like coffee and such.

and remember, front/concierge desk has the most power over how good your stay is. They pick your room, tell you which restaurants are good, what shows to see, and how to get around. We give out pretty much the same info over and over all day long. A fiver can make a big difference in just how far we're willing to go for you though. Plus, we probably have coupons for free stuff!

how do you discretely give the front desk people a tip

the maids tip is out of sight, the bellboy is also rather private

what if you dont want to be seen handing cash over in public, the thought of it makes me feel squeemish, it just seems tacky.

Maybe a shake of the hand with the note tucked inside?

Thanks for the answers and for the title fix:D. Since I have an unlimited expense account for this trip (trying to land big client) I will make sure to leave $5-10 for the maids and luggage handlers

wish me luck, I'll need it;)
