I have a problem: A month ago the house computer crashed. A cirus totally tore apart the hard drive, so we got Windows reinstalled.
In the process of wiping everything out and reinstalling everything, my iTunes was also erased...along with all my songs in the library.
I do have all my songs on my iPod, but I have no idea how to put all my songs from iPod back to my iTunes.
I called Apple support and the guy there told me that I can't copy from iPod to iTunes, just iTunes to iPod.
I've heard, though, that you can copy from iTunes to iPod, but you have to use outside software.
What can I do? Any ideas? Is my iPod now forever unupdateable? :(

google search for a program called "ipod agent" i think it runs $15-$20 to register it, but it pulls the music off the Ipod(needed to do it myself once or twice)

Ephpod is free. Look for it.

It's what got me through.

By the by, Apple has to say that, so people aren't encouraged to file share via iPod.

A quick google search on putting songs from your iPod onto your computer is where it's at. I've done it by using my iPod as a hard drive rather than an mp3 player...

It did take me a while to find it. I didn't charge my iPod for a week until I figured out how to do it.

Thanks Techangel...I've been looking for a utility for Mrs. Rudes' shuffle so she can upload from it.

It's been a life saver for me, and most I do is (with my 4th gen) plug it in to the USB port and listen to it at work. I haven't had the same luck with the shuffle. But I blame the PC. I think I need to restart. I need to get my new UPS in anyways.

Enjoy!
