I can't see any animations on my computer. Anyone care to help me troubleshoot?
PS. I get animations on other sites, but not here.

Probably the only animations you should see would be avatars - is that what you mean?

I had that problem once- it had to do with the settings on my firewall blocking certain types of animation. For the longest time I thought CanadaGirl's avi was JUST a cat eye because that was where it 'froze'. LOL
Or, depending on what it is (not avi's/smilies usually) it could be that you either need to get or troubleshoot your JRE (Java Runtime Environment).
I don't know what animations you mean so...?

I meant avi's and smilys.

Hmm - we don't have any AVIs that I am aware of on the site. Most smilies are static.
Is that animated?

avi likely meaning avatars.

I see them on my laptop, but not my desktop. I think it's just my computer. (And avi is avatar.)

Are you using the same browser on each? If so, there might be some setting somewhere that got changed (darn those random shortcut keys!), maybe a quick look through the security and advanced settings to see if there's any differences?

Laptop is a 4 month old HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with Vista.
Desktop is a 7 year old generic box I got on sale somewhere with windows XP.

Yes, but browser? Internet explorer, Firefox, netscape, opera, etc.? Same brand, same version?

Both use firefox, and I don't know how to tell what version.

Update: I managed to get some smilies animated. Oh, and Broomjockey: both desktop and laptop use the same versions of Firefox.

As a side:
I refer to avatars as avi's. I sometimes forget that an AVI is a type of movie format.
My bad.

Ok, it works now. :) I just needed (I think) the new Java plugin.
Thanks!
