I take calls for a major electronics chain store. I will post a lot here, as every day people get dumber and dumberer and dumberererererererererer....

"Thank you for calling***** May I have your name please?"

"Yeah, I have a problem with your phone I just bought. The caller ID says your number and I haven't even plugged it in yet. it won't turn off."

"Ok, you need to remove the window film that protects the screen during shipment to the store."

"Well, that's the dumbest thing i ever heard. Why would you put your number on window film?"

*mute button* Just so people like you can call and complain you don't know how to do anything. *mute off* "As a courtesy for our customers who need support for our products. Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"No, I think I got it now."

"Ok, you have a good day, and thank you for calling *******."

I had 3 people call the same day for this same issue. I hate stupid people.

Since the stupid people are keeping you employed, must be gut wenching ;)

You should read some of PhoneJockey's callers, just to dull your mind when you return to work.

I don't know about where you are, but we've coined the phrase Mute Button Tourettes (MBT for short) to describe that. I've got MBT baaaaaaaad...

(No offense intended to anybody with tourettes, or knows anybody with tourettes, etc, etc...)

I'm just surprised he made it out of the box in the first place.

I've really got to put some cups under my ears so I can collect all the brains that leak out of my head when I read stuff like this.

I mean, it's like these people actually TRY and be stupid. I've seen that screen film on every new little electronic device I've laid my eyes on that has a display screen.

You know, I actually considered doing something like that... way back before I found this site and I was still a stupid teenager.

Use earplugs...they're cheaper, cleaner, and you won't be hearing more stuff that would cause additional leakage. ;)

Oh I can assure you, they're not trying to be stupid. I've learned most people are generally just that dumb. Ok, maybe I shouldn't say dumb, but we'll call it lazy and/or in a hurry all the time. Too busy to read, listen, or research the info on their own. I prefer to my own thing and HATE calling others for support. I always feel like a goon when I do it. Now it's much worse being that I actually work in Tech Support and know what people go through.

Boy oh boy, most of my idiots are MIND-NUMBING. I truly believe hubby will be wheeling me off to the loony farm any day now...
