To everyone that has to work, my heart goes out to you.
To everyone that's going to be out shopping, what deals are you looking at?
(For Giggle Googe) To everyone that's going to be tucked in safe and warm in bed, I'll envy you!

I might take a trip over and pick up some freshly trampled SCs after the doorbusting stampede. Cook them a little like roadkill, you reckon? Same care went into their creation.

If you happen to find yourself on my side of the pond, I'll knock a few tasty looking ones down for you on the way to my new dishwasher!! ;)

Last year was my first Black Friday venture. Went to Meijer's at 3:30 in the morning and got in line at the electronics. They started taking orders at 5:00. My eyes were on the $20 mp3 player with an expansion slot for a memory card. Got that and then got the new Monopoly game for $10 and a DVD recorder for $50. Overall (to my surprise) everyone around me was really cool and there was law and order everywhere around me.

 Hey, you excluded the group that's going to be sleeping off a hangover. ;) Kidding.
But I'm quite looking forward to a day of movies and leftovers. Mmmm....

Everyone is going to hate me but this is the slowest time of year for us. Sure, we'll get our issues here and there, maybe a fire or two, but with the super-over agressive issue seeking we've done the past month (busy time for us) we've tried to take care of any issue so our presence is minimal to get in the way at retail stores.

I have no idea what I'll be looking for. Mom and I usually go to the clothing stores for super-cheap winter clothing and Sears and such places for electronics for the brother and father. But as far as the latter goes I won't know what to look for until I see the ads.

Will be working from 5 am to 7 am on Black Friday (come in at 10:30 Thanksgiving night), so I get the first two hours of the rush.
At least I don't work at Menards. Supposedly they have real super duper deals on certain things like we do, but they only get like 6 or 12 of each item.
Much suck ensues.

Heh, my store's ad isn't on there. In fact I haven't even seen a hard copy of it.
It is a very tightly-guarded secret, but then again I know what many of the items are--they were brought inside and staged today.

That's one good thing about being unemployed: I won't have to risk trampling by SC's. :D
However, my poor mother is stuck having to come in at a friggin' quarter to six. Yes, that's AM. :(
I salute you brave souls who must endure the battering of that day. :respect:

Black Friday is considered a voluntary holiday where I work. (Mail order pharmacy). In fact... if I work it I get paid double time and ahalf... $27 per hour. Woo! Talk about incentive. And I probably won't have to deal with customers. *hides under her desk in anticipation of thrown tomatoes*

Heh, and guess where all those SC's are gonna want to go while out and about? I think this will be my first black friday and I know I'm not gonna like it. I'm pulling a 12-8 shift this week instead of the usual 4pm-12am shift I'm used to because everyone wanted that damn day off and I was one of the few that has fridays off anyway. And I know some idiots are gonna call out at the last minute and leave me hanging. My wrath will ensue, I can smell the suck already.

I have Friday off every week, and Black Friday will be no exception. I go in, get my paycheck, deposit it, go home, grab some lunch, and then go over to a friend's to game. One of the many benefits of working in Market Research... I get to go an entire Black Friday without seeing a single SC.
I made it a point, many years ago, to never set foot in a retail store on Black Friday, for any reason beyond necessities (cigarettes, toilet paper, food, water.) even then, I will go to a small store instead of a big one, just to avoid the crowds.
I worked on Black Friday at a fast food place in a mall... That day was hell. I had gotten sick from something in Second Dinner (I usually end up having two meals on thanksgiving, divorced parents...) and was feeling like crap, working in the back after sucking up the nausea and not being able to call in. from 11am to 7pm... We didn't have a lull at any point, I almost didn't get a break, and I had to stay another hour because one of the closers called in. I'm glad I'm not in The Trenches anymore...
Also to add to this... I had worked an 8 hour shift at a grocery store the Wednesday before Thanksgiving... Same week as the shift above... So, yeah, I quit both jobs shortly there after and then had to deal with Quebecois for a year working for UPS at the border...

Hmmm . . . now we know what to do with those darn holiday leftovers.:p
I had a last-minute schedule change due to both me and P. Diddy reading the truck delivery schedule wrong for this week (we thought I'd have an HBC truck coming Wed. and another one on Sunday, but I found out Monday from Opie that we misread it and it was order Wed for Saturday and order Sunday for regular Tuesday delivery.)
So, instead of splitting my days off on Tues, Thurs and Saturday - I took off Tuesday and am off today and Black Friday.
So I'll be among the few . . . the proud . . . the bedbugs.
Neener, neener:p

Still unemployed (Not for long I hope) but there is no way in hell, Earth, heaven, space, the moon, Mars, or Jupiter that you will get me out shopping. I loathe crowds and the concept of sleeping in is not lost on me. That and I get angry easily when someone shoves me and the last thing a store needs is removing a man from a shelf of shoes because he bumped into me when he could plainly see me!
I feel for my friend H. She JUST got a job at Wal-Mart and hasn't even completed her first week yet. She's coming in at 5 AM. I hope she doesn't lose it.
