Ok, I didn't see it yet...so...here's a thread all about Rock Band!

Who's played it? What do you all think?

Being avid fans of the Guitar Hero series, you can guess that my hunny and I did!
We jammed with some friends of ours last night.

I think this is the first time I've been really excited about a game on it's release day...

I can't even write about it because words are inadequate to describe how excited I am.

:super:

I play Rock Band at work. I really like the size of the Rock Band guitar, but I hate the whammy bar and strumming thing. It's too soft... I need the click. The drums are really fun to play.

I think I'll stick with Guitar Hero for a while. Besides that, I'm being pressured into getting a 360 so I can play with my friends at work. (Oh, and I'm being pressured for WoW too, but, that has no chance.)

I didn't try to the new guitar, yet. My friend had one of the regular 360 guitars and I was playing on that. I thought the new guitar would be hard because the buttons all blend in...if you lose your place...well, you're lost!

The drums look like so much fun! My SO was playing the drums...the other girl in the group was singing, and our guy friend was playing lead.

I just want to practice the singing before I try to do it in a group, and my SO said you really need to do 3 or 4 songs just to get used to the drums.

I sooo can't wait to get home from work tonight....

Rock Band is a blast, we finally unlocked Timmy and The Lords Of The Underworld. *for all you southpark fans, you know what I'm blabbin about.*

They made me sing on it, and I failed cause I was laughing too hard.

So how does it work with a girl singing when all but a couple songs are by male singers? Is it still pretty doable to get a good score?

At E3 this year, they demo'd it on G4. A girl was doing "Suffragette City" by David Bowie, and they were doing great. So I imagine you can do well, guy or girl.

The G4 cast got on the instruments and started playing a Hives' song, but it accidentally logged onto Xbox Live and shat their game up.

Well, Gawdzillers, come on, a girl singing David Bowie is nigh impossible to distinguish one from the other ANYWAYS. However, yes, it's all pitch-based. That's all. they take into account length of note, timing, and pitch.

I can't put this game down...

I still haven't gotten on the drums, yet. But, I have tried the singing. It's actually pretty difficult unless you know the song...

And other songs are just damn hard to sing!

Mississipi Queen kicks my ass at singing...

The other half the time I'm too busy laughing at myself to get all the notes right...

I think I'll stick to guitar and bass for awhile.

this is the most fun my wife and I have. I seriously think she's more committed to playing it more than I am. I was super lucky to get the last ps3 version that Best Buy had XD. As for the singing, since its all based on tone you any one could sing any of the songs. I still get screwed up on Maps though ><;;

I could never do the vocal part.

My voice is so fubar'd it's gone past not funny and directly into funny as hell again.
