I went out to lunch with some girls from the office today. As I was standing in line waiting for my food, I recognized another waiting patron as the frontman from one of my most favoritest bands, Ellis Island. I casually remarked as such, and went back to waiting. I briefly thought about approching him because I really have been wondering when they are going to play another show, but he looked very very tired so I thought better of it. I'll just keep checking the website.

The idiot girls that I was with proceeded to make a gosh-darned red faced spectical of myself, to the point that I wanted to just crawl into a hole and die. They kept getting louder and louder, much to my embarassment (not to mention his!) They kept telling me to go over and tell him how much I love his band, how great he is, or how hot I think he is. They offered to go "get his digits" or pull some his hair for me to keep. They wanted to know if he had an accent. Well, yeah, tard, he does a little bit. Finally I had no choice but to pull out the huge bitch card, and I promptly told them to STFU and drop it RIGHT NOW.

First off, I'm not a ninny, even though I've chosen to surround myself with ninnies. Believe it or not, as a girl, I can admire a boy and it have nothing to do with how attractive the person is. The band member in question is a great musician-period. Both of them are actually. I've met the guys on several occasions. I've traveled to Kansas City to see them. Bless their souls, they played a song for me at one show-being an arms length from one of the band members is nothing new. That's why I'm not freaking out. It's just kinda cool to be ordering egg rolls next to someone that you really really respect.

Sorry, it was just embarassing. They are one of my favorite bands-and I really love what they can do. I don't need some idiot girls souring that and making me look like just another screaming groupie. Cuz I'm not.
