I am a happy kitty this weekend. :D In spite of the fact that I spent much time cleaning, in spite of the rain/snow/ice storm we had in the midwest yesterday, and in spite of the fact that I managed to break my scraper while bashing said ice off of my car so I could go pay my rent. And yes, even in spite of the fact that the Bears want me to cry and gave up the game today.

Why, you ask?

Because I had a super awesome weekend and felt the need to share it.

-First off, I learned that it is actually amazingly fun and awesome for stress relief when ice freezes over your windows, but you can still roll your windows down, and you're able to punch out the ice from the inside.

-Second, the Bulls actually managed to win a game. :headscratch: Oh, and I found out my Uncle is letting us (me, my brother and my cousin) use his season tickets to go to a Bulls game this month.

-Thirdly, Spartan athletics had a good weekend. MSU's basketball team pulled it together and had a lovely victory on Saturday, and today, they announced that MSU's football team is going to the Champs Sports Bowl in sunny Orlando, FL. :)

-Fourthly, I found out that I am going to the Champs Sports Bowl in sunny Orlando, FL. :D

-Fifthly, I found out that I do not have to work Friday night like I thought I did, so I can go to the holiday party for work, which is at a bar and way more fun that it sounds like, because everyone at my company is a lush, pretty much, so it's always good amusement for those of us with the sense to pace ourselves.

-And finally, I had an actual date, with a guy I really like and get along with, who my family might actually like and approve of, on Friday night. And it went really well. And he took me to Gameworks and was a good sport when I beat him at air hockey, even. ;)

So yay for me, and thanks to anyone who reads this, as I know it's mostly me being happy about silly things that don't mean much to anyone who is not me.

Hey, I am happy for you being happy. Your post made me smile :)

And that ice window thing does sound like fun! I hope that happens to my car this winter so I can try it! :D

Oh, and as if I wasn't feeling blessed enough, I just found out that while I'm in sunny Orlando, FL enjoying a bowl game, I also get to see my best friend from college, one of my favorite people in the whole wide world, who I haven't seen in something like a year. I got so excited when I got his text, I actually teared up. :D

Seriously, best weekend in a long ass time. And I get tomorrow off, so I can finish cleaning my darn apartment. Awesome.

Dont feel silly at all.

If you do NOT have the skill of finding happy things in mundane every-day stuff - you come out like a sourpuss, waiting for the BIG HAPPY.

In life - the BIG HAPPY doesn't exist. It's how much happy you get out of the little things. Really.

So you had fun crunching ice? Cool!

Me, I want a kitten. Badly. But instead of whining about it and wanting, I keep self busy - and enjoy the ride! Snow this weekend! Fun driving - really! Nice guy @ restaurant, good good food!

Screw happy lottery tickets. Find the smiles in the pennies.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. :)

Cutenoob, I completely agree with you. Life is all about finding the joy in the little things, and not letting the bad stuff get you down if you can avoid it.

Cool. You'll be an hour away from me (but only 35 miles. Damn this Florida traffic!)
Just a heads up. Bring something warm. It does get cold here, especially at night.
So here's to hoping that you will actually have a sunny day in Florida!

If not, it will probably still be warmer than any other place at the time!

Me too...I want a puppy...I'd take a kitten...or both...or 2...

OK, I just want a furry thing. (But not something that lives in a cage. Something that will come cuddle with me and can keep me warm in bed.)

Can't have one in my apartment and my roommate doesn't want a pet (though we can work on that one...). Once I get more settled (maybe after the holidays) I want to see if there's an animal shelter nearby where I can volunteer. Or a vet's office...I know my cats' vet sometimes looks for people to play with the cats they keep there.
