:D No, I don't think I"m a loser, but I want to sound this off and get feedback before going ahead...

As you all know, I'm getting married this November. As some of you know, this isn't my first marriage. I never had a "bachelorette" party before getting hitched the first time, but I'd like to have one now. Owing to a few circumstances in my life, however (my best friends always being male as one of them), I'll have to arrange this myself in order to make it actually happen.

I'm not asking anyone for gifts or anything, just to get people together for an evening and have some fun. Is this totally tacky of me to just come out and do it? Whaddya think?

No, I don't think it's tacky. What's wrong with you wanting to have a little rowdy fun with your girlfriends? It's your wedding, your big event. Make it like you want it!:)

Nah, I don't think it's tacky, or that it makes you a loser. GO FOR IT!!!!!!!

It's a great idea! Go for it! It also allows you to avoid having to wear embarrasing bachelorette-party gear :)

I don't think it makes you a loser.

I've never actually been to a real "bachelorette" party. Most of the people I know when they got married we all (bride, groom, friends, relatives) went out together and got smashed.

Ah, good times. :D

You're only concidered a loser if you invite me to be the "Entertainment".

So should I get the baby oil?

 :runaway:

Kiwi, you read my mind. :p

I'll still have to organize it, though, since no one I know has a shred of ability or desire to organize anything more complex than a ham sandwich.

And I'm thinking of putting out an invite here on the board as well, so...boys and girls, you have been warned. :D (Which means you're off the hook for "entertainment," Spiffy, unless you'd like to attend and possibly join me in dancing on the tables.)

Just sent out a "save the date" e-mail...October 28...and received several "gee, I'd love to, but..." replies. (sigh) The same people who tell me they "never plan ahead" are now booked months in advance?

Oh well, I guess that will be more booze for me, then. Anyone wanna join me? :D

Hey, if you want someone to jump out of a cake, I'm available.

Just please, PLEASE make sure you bake it BEFORE I get inside it. I hate when that happens.

You guys are scaring me, you know that? ;) No, I'm going to stand by my no-strippers policy, so you're off the hook. As I told Spiffy, though, I will be on the lookout for drunken dance partners/bowling buddies/people to kick my butt at pool, however...watch this space (well, actually, watch the Get Togethers space, but you know what I mean). :D

If I can make it down, can I come? I havent been to Vancouver for 3 months so I can see my friends there on the way down.

It would depend on my work schedule (I get that 7 days in advance) and if my visa will allow me to re-enter Canada (Ill check that out tomorrow) because I dont want to be stuck at the border!

If your offer is genuine Id love to come! I'll even bring a pressie!!

The offer is indeed genuine...I'm going to post a link to the invitation in the next few days (in the Get Togethers forum). :) It would be great to see you and any other CS-ers in the neighborhood - or those intrepid enough to make the drive!! What better way is there to meet people than while surrounded by drunken, celebrating crazy folk?!

I would tell you, "Don't do anything I wouldn't do"....but that leaves it wa-a-a-y too wide open!

So I will say this, "Don't get caught!"

This is where the quotes that are my signature come into play!
