So which do you like better? The electronical sounds of Manheim Steamroller or the real-instrumental and strong voices of Trans-Siberian Orchestra?

Hm. This was tough. I voted Manheim, but I hesitated several times.

Where is the "All of the Above" Option?? I love them both, and it is the only Christmas Music allowed in our house. I suppose if I was forced to pick one or the other it is probably Steamroller, but only by a very narrow margin.

Close...

TSO initially started as an offshoot of Savatage, but now it appears that the 'Tage is dead and TSO is the primary musical force. Jon Oliva, Savatage's vocalist and the brainchild of TSO, originally released Christmas Eve Sarajevo (you know it) on Savatage's 1995 album Dead Winter Dead and it did jack diddly, but when he released it on TSO's debut Christmas Eve & Other Stories a year later, it was a smash. So he put 2 and 2 together and realized that maybe it was time to hang up the 'Tage for the time being and work with TSO.

BTW, I voted for TSO. It is ALL about Old City Bar.

TSO all the way. I saw them perform on my birthday this year and it was a blast. I spent the next week with their songs stuck in my head.

People find it odd that I love TSO and canNOT stand Manheim Steamroller.

I feel this way too. I love great guitar playing, and I have real issues with electronical-style music. Mannheim sounds like "Close Encounters of a Third Kind" meets "White Christmas".

I don't. I'm the same way. *shudder* I hear Mannheim and I run.
