After 6 years as a call centre monkey, on Wednesday I will take my last customer service call and hang up the headset - forever.

I'm off to be a Workforce Planner at my company's new teleworking department, i.e. making sure we have enough people on the phones, working from their houses. My new bosses are fantastic, I have never had so much fun in an interview in my life.

The really sad part is that I have only recently stumbled onto the CS forums, so really haven't had the opportunity to vent... I'm really glad to be out of there, but I'm not leaving this forum.. There are plenty war stories I want to regale you all with.

Congratulations MisseLaneius!

:grats:

All the very best in your new position - I imagine it will be quite a shift after 6 years as a CSR... er... "Call Centre Monkey"!

I see that your new position is "Workforce Planner" - will this involve some management of the tele-work employees, or is it more about planning the schedules, and other related duties?

I'm sure we all look forward to hearing many of your stories. I imagine you have stacked up quite a few over the years.

Cheers!

I've still got plenty of old war stories that I plan on bringing out... My new boss said today that he loves having people who have worked on the phones, because they will generally work their butts off to avoid having to go back to that.

In my new job, there's a little bit of management, a lot of scheduling and a fair whack of helpdesk too... Always fun and games.
