I just thought this would be a fun little topic. What ringtone are you using on your cellphone (if you have one)?

I'm using one of two ringtones depending on what I feel like. My primary is "The Safety Dance," and I sometimes switch to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

AC/DC "Back in Black."

I almost missed a couple of calls because I wanted to let the song finish!

Cannon In D.

I want a cool ringtone. The coolest one I've heard is the opening riff from Play That Funky Music.

I'm so freaking boring.

I have a confession. I don't know how to get a cool ringtone.

No, seriously.

I have a very high tech life. How is it even possible that I'm asking this? :o

I've got two of them. Both from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. One from the movie, one from the radio show. They're set to the groups I use on my phone.

People I like? So Long, and Thanks for all the Fish.

Work? Share and Enjoy.

Anybody who wants to can google the lyrics :)

My current ringtone is the organ intro to a remix of The Shadows Dance by Theatre of Tragedy.
My SMS tone is The Renegade Muffin by songstowearpantsto.com
My alarm tone is the Accountancy Shanty by Monty Python, from the Meaning of Life, or the Gummy Bears theme song, depending on whether it's a weekday or weekend.

My parent's ringtone is the chorus to It's Your Life by Frou Frou
My work's ringtone is The Lunatics Have Taken Over the Asylum by FunBoyThree.
My friends' ringtons are Kazoo (also by songstowearpantsto.com), the bass intro to Higher Ground - RHCP version, the intro to the remix of More Human than Human by White Zombie.
And TTO's ringtone is the chorus of London Rain by Heather Nova.

Why yes, I do like making ringtones for my phone, why do you ask??

Hell yea! Me too! AC/DC rocks!

The ONE time I left my phone on, I was late for a Calc II test. I walked in a few minutes late and everyone had already started. Right as I sat in my seat, my mom called me, even though she had my schedule right in front of her. I thought my teacher was going to kill me but he just laughed. Must have been because it's a bangin song.

Currently I don't have one (Anyone know a place to download free ringtones on your pc to put on your phone? *bats eyelashes*)

But on my old phone, I had a rich ringtone life. I had Burt Baccarat's "What the world needs now" for the longest time, and the Super Mario Bros. theme song as the best. I had others, but they weren't nearly as good. Also every July 1 I'd switch to O Canada.

Just switched over from

"You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch..."

to

"The Lion Sleeps Tonight"

on the business cell it's "Ring" and "Buzz" - almost as boring as it gets :)

Depends. If your phone is bluetooth capable, you can probably use bluetooth to upload an mp3 or wav file, and get that to play as your ringtone. I know that's what I did for mine.

Currently and has been for the past 6 months is The Magnificent Seven theme. previously it was the Imperial march, before that yakkity sax. And before that I forget but probably something beepy as I've had a mobile phone since before 2000. Though not so far back as to have had one of the ones you could cook a turkey with.

Well, it's bluetooth capable, but it's a smartphone or whatever they're called, and sync's up to my computer, so I can put files on easily. I just don't really have any songs I'd like to use as ringtones, so a website to browse and find something I don't currently have would be good.

Ah, now that I can't help with. Only sites I know of that could fit your needs might be itunes and emusic.

My ringtone is the overture from "Mack and Mabel", and my message tone is the fanfare from the beginning of "Barnum".
Kinda gives me away as a Torvill and Dean freak!

Depends on who is calling:

Mom: Mr. T, telling me that my mother is on the line and that I should speak softly and be polite.

Becks: Where's My Hairbrush. (VeggieTales)

everyone at work: Take This Job And Shove It. (Johnny Paycheck)

my fave nephew: Rubber Duckie (some guy that isn't Ernie from Sesame Street)

my eldest sister and her husband: Sanitarium. (MetallicA!!)

my brother: Dance Of The Cucumber (VeggieTales)

K: Save A Horse (Big and Rich)

home: Home Sweet Home (Motely Crue)

Monica: Little Bit Of Life (I don't remember)

my other cell: Hero Of The Day (MetallicA!!!)

my fave ex: Love Me For Me (there's a chance this will be changed at some point)

my other ex: Pour Some Sugar On Me (Def Leppard)

A couple people got to pick theirs, but most had them chosen for them.:wave:

My primary is a clip from Peter Howell's Doctor Who theme; I found a program to convert any audio into ringtones so am deciding who gets what. Someone's getting Of Wolf And Man, although I have yet to figure out who. Dad gets Mythbusters as soon as I can find it (or get a clean rip off a DVD)

The now-ex has Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

Just a normal everyday ring, although I might put in either Sonic Youth's Death Valley 69 or something from My Bloody Valentine's Loveless album.

Take on Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMWXyEHoN88) by A-ha, has been ever since I got a phone that could play ringtones. My hubby says I'm A-ha biggest fan since I practicality have every thing they have done in most formats :o

I started with "Scotland the Brave". Then I was able to finally find on the Verizon ringtone thing the NMSU fight song. Man, have I gotten a few dirty looks! (I live in Albuquerque, home of UNM. NMSU and UNM are in-state rivals and we hate each other!)
I had "Rio" by Duran Duran on my old phone.

I've always loved the video for that song (and the song, too) and the song and video for "The Sun Always Shines on TV".

Don't be embarrassed about your A-Ha fetish. I've got the same problem with Duran Duran! :p

I have loaded a number of ringtones onto my phone, but only use a couple actively. All of them are done intentionally to be weird or silly.

Most incoming calls trigger this: http://tinyurl.com/2o3k75 which is a remix of the answer song to Mario's "Let me Love You."

Unknown callers get a MIDI version of "The Power of Love"

Only people have unique ringtones. A former co-worker/friend is assigned Hinder's "Get Stoned" and a current co-worker has "Kiss the Girl," both as a joke (though I'm considering switching her ringtone to Get Stoned and coming up with another for the first person).

Just a simple cool ringtone that came with my phone. But it is also one vibrate/ring.
For the message's, it is just a cute little tune that came with the phone.

I did have DeGeneration X(WWE) Theme song, but I stopped it.

Probably my coolest ringtone is the theme from The Exorcist, "Tubular Bells," which I have set for text messages.

My normal ringer for most people is U2's "Vertigo". "Hello, hello...." Seems to fit.

I have also used as a default Sheryl Crow's "Steve McQueen" which rocks and The Rolling Stones' "Start Me Up" which has a great opening riff. I don't use The Doors' "L.A. Woman" nearly enough.

For specific people.......

For every magician I know, it is Heart's "Magic Man." Heart also happens to be my favorite band.

For my most recent ex, it was Heart's "Crazy on You" for a long time.

For another ex that I am still friends with, as a joke I made her ringtone Heart's "Barracuda." Which is also my alarm clock ringtone. Did I mention that Heart is my favorite band?

For my evil older sister, The Witch, I have Star Wars' "Imperial March," aka Darth Vader's theme. Which is hilarious.

For my best friend Neets, it is Queen's "You're My Best Friend."

For voicemail messages, it's Rush's "Spirit of the Radio." One of the best guitar riffs EVER.

I also have downloaded "Bad to the Bone" (George Thorogood), the "Mission Impossible" theme, "Break on Through" (The Doors), "Evil Woman" (ELO), the Star Wars main theme, and for some reason, George Carlin's bit as Al Sleet, the Hippy Dippy Weather Man: "Tonight's forecast.....dark. Continued mostly dark throughout the evening.....breaking to widely scattered light in the morning."

Yes, I'm weird. We knew that.

Mine's on vibrate.

My phone is on vibrate 99% of the time, mostly because I usually don't hear the phone when it rings, nor do I use it much anyway. When I do have the ringer turned on, it's just a generic phone ringing. Although, if somebody sends me a text message and the ringer is on my phone plays The Price is Right theme song.

my current one is the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song...
For Christmas, I had TSO's "Wizards in Winter"
I also have "Super Mario Brothers" (old 8bit game theme song), guitar intro to "Sweet Home Alabama", and "Hedwig's Theme" from Harry Potter.

I have a few specifics, but the general ring tone is the Monday Night Football Theme (yep. I'm a BIG dork!)

"I Wonder" by Kellie Pickler is Momma's

"Rockstar" by Nickleback is most of the people from work

"Bubbly" by Colbie Caillat is the boy's

"I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones is my best friend J's

"Famous in a Small Town" by Miranda Lambert is the roomate C's and my cousins A and LA

"Crazy Bi***" by Buckcherry belongs to my friends M, JF, T, CT and V

and

"Personal (Big Girls Don't Cry)" by Fergie belongs to JS

Why yes, yes I do. Heart rocks, and I love them.

The day I met them (December 7. 1991, I think) was pretty awesome, too. :super:

I want to set alternate clips for voicemail and text messages, but can't for the life of me figure out how to do it (Samsung A707).

Took me a while to figure out how to do that, AND how to assign ringtones to specific people.....for months after getting my phone, I was convinced I could not assign tones to specific people.

Obviously I was wrong. Nothing new there!
