I can't dance. At all. I have no rhythm. On the dance floor, I am that white guy that flounders and flips around like I'm having convulsions. Therefore, I don't dance.

However, there is one song that I just have to get up and move to.

But It's All Right by J.J. Jackson.

Some others are from the Animal House soundtrack: Twistin' the Night Away by Sam Cooke, Shama Lama Ding Dong and Shout by Lloyd Williams.

Also, just about anything by James Brown.

Anyone else care to share what they twitch to?

I am a truly horrible dancer so nothing really gets me up on the dance floor. My weakness is car singing. Yes, I am that dork you see driving down the road singing along to the radio. If I am alone(because my voice really does not bear sharing with others) I will sing along with anything I know the words to. My favorites are Queen songs. :p

Oooh, I love to dance. I dance to all sorts of stuff, but my absolute, hands down, all time favorite booty shaking get-your-groove-thang-on dancing music is George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Mmm, hmm. I love me some of that. Bad To The Bone, Who Do You Love, Move It On Over, are all good; but it's their earth-shattering cover of Howlin' Wolf's Howlin' For My Baby that remains my all time favorite dancing song. Those guitar notes are embedded deep into my soul.

It can have its positive side. When we were first moving up here, I was getting a bit droopy driving my car, so I put on my Ramones CD, cranked it up, and sang along. Kept me awake til we made our destination! :)
George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Mmm, hmm. I love me some of that.
I like his song Get A Haircut. One of the funniest songs ever! :D

I, too do the singing aloud in the car, and in the lab.

The songs that make me boogie...*

The Little Debbie Somg by Southern Culture on the Skids

Take me Back to Your House by Basement Jaxx

Shut Your Mouth by Pain

Superstar by Lupe Fiasco

My Sacrifice by Cruxshadows

*And by boogie I mean twitch and wiggle in a rhythmical fashion, I don't know if you'd call it dancing.

No, but there are songs that make me air guitar or sing along, particularly Tenacious D's "The Metal".

While I, as a rule, don't dance, there's countless songs that make me start moving to the rhythm uncontrollably. Most notably of late (because they're on my shop's playlist) is "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You" by Black Kids.

Although I also once serenaded my blushing coworkers to "Baby Doll" by Dan Wilson.

Note: Due to disagreements with BMI, our shop's playlist consists of far more independent artists than usual, so I'm a bit out of touch with more popular music.

I'm a stereotypical white guy. I have no rhythm whatsoever. So I don't do boogie.

Somebody mentioned Southern Culture on the Skids. I'd love to hear the "You Make Me Wanna Walk Like A Camel" song on the radio again.

Nah, I wouldn't do that. I still listen to the CD sometimes, like when I'm vacuuming the carpets. :o

The Raider's March.

I kid you not, every time I hear that timeless old tune, I wish for a fedora and a bullwhip.

When I'm 64--Beatles (always makes me bounce in rhythm, so jaunty!)
Hit Me Baby One More Time--Dweezil Zappa
Dance to the Music--Sly and the Family Stone

Yeah, I'm weird.

I can't dance . . . I have 2 left feet.

But that doesn't stop me when I'm in the kitchen and I have the tv on (I love those XM stations.)

Some faves that make me either want to shake my booty or the Beavis and Butt-Head headbang:

Girls, Girls, Girls - Motley Crue
Rock You Like A Hurricane - The Scorpions
Redneck Woman - Gretchen Wilson
Pump Up The Volume - MAARS
Boogie Wonderland - Earth, Wind and Fire
Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) - The Jacksons
All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You - Heart
Harlem Shuffle - The Rolling Stones
Edge of Seventeen - Stevie Nicks

and pretty much anything by either Donna Summer or Diana Ross and the Supremes:D

Awesome thread idea! I love to dance.

I'm not picky, but my favourites are usually hip-hop. My all-time favourite is Can't C Me by 2Pac.

I LOVE that song. Especially since seeing Shaun of the Dead. That scene where they're beating the zombie pubkeeper in time to the music is the funniest thing ever.:lol::roll:
