OK, this is just too strange. I could not make this stuff up if I tried.
My mom has one of those small cappucino makers that you put on the stove.
I didn't actually see this, but I heard the immediate aftermath this morning (literally 30 minutes ago). She says it started making a strange noise, and then the valve pops off and there's a mini caffeinated Mt. Vesuvius..coffee all over the stove, sink, floor, walls...ceiling.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get a photo of the ceiling mess before she cleaned it up. I can say it's something I'd never seen before.

I think I need some of that coffee to wake me up this morning

*nod* Talk about espresso roast :p And this was apparently decaf.
It seems to work fine now...weird.

And here I imagined a vat of coffee with a clever chasing after you.

I have been attacked in a similar fashion by espresso brewers before. Not a common occurance but seems to just be a hazard of being a coffee junkie.

This actually kind of makes me happy that I don't drink coffee.
You guys live way too dangerously for me.

About 20 years ago my Mom was cooking some potatos in a pressure cooker. She figured they were done so she pulled the cooker off the eye onto a large aluminum trivet and using a fork lifted the pressure valve (the jiggler) off. I was in a backroom working on something when she started squalling. I come a runnin and find her trying to poke a wire down the pressure stem and the pot is shaking. I grab her by the shoulder and yell run and we do. Just as we turned the corner out of the kitchen the gasket blows and a fountain of potatos sprayed upwards to coat a 12ft ceiling. Eventually it stops and I deem it safe to return. After a little slip-slidding I get to the cooker and remove the lid, there was hardly any potatos left in it but there was plenty on the walls, the floor, the cabinets, the counters, the ceilings, the fridge, and the stove. I spent the next two hours cleaning the high places as best I could. To this day after several applications of kilz you can still see where the potatos were on the ceiling. I guess the only way to get rid of the stains is to replace the sheetrock or move.

It's okay- you can live vicariously through me.
Speaking of the dangers of coffee... apparently my application of Amdro has worn off with all the rain. I was sitting here yesterday, reading the board and drinking coffee. I picked- up my coffee cup, not really looking at it, and suddenly felt tingling spreading across my hands and up my arms.
Fire ants. Thousands of them.
Apparently they have as much of a propensity for sweet coconut cream coffee as I do.
Of course, I acted completely logically and rationally.
Okay, I paniced. Next thing I knew I was in the hallway knocking ants off myself and spraying everything (cup, arms, etc.) with Windex. Why Windex? I don't know really- I guess it was just within reach or something...? Paniced- remember? Got away with only two bites- both on my hands. Guess they just wanted the coffee.
*gak- shivers*
PS~ Strangely, I haven't seen an ant yet today. It's like they just vanished...

Honestly, that was the funniest bit of imagery I've had today!!!
Thank you!!
