View Full Version : Why, Meeko? Just WHY? (gross)

Our Pomeranian is a great little dog, except when he does things like he did just now. Sometimes he pukes, as all dogs do. This particular chap pukes every time, without fail, in the narrow space between the refrigerator and the cupboard in the kitchen, or in my parents' bathroom. But yeah, mostly in the kitchen, and he always makes sure to back up as he goes to ensure the biggest mess possible. If we see he's about to be sick and try to get him outside, he'll aim for carpet instead. Oh yes, and it's always just before we're sitting down to eat or going in and out of the kitchen making breakfast/dinner.

On one hand, I'm glad he at least hits tile since that's easier to clean up and won't leave a dog puke stain, but on the other hand, why can't he just ask to go out?

Ah, pets. Can't live with them, certainly can't live without them.

My kitties don't have a spot. Its where ever they happen to be. Somehow they do remember to not do it on the carpets anymore (bonus!). Only happens when they eat all there food and decide its a good time to run around like crazy *shakes head*

Meeko usually just throws up water and bits of whatever he's eaten. Which is another reason we try and keep him out of the pasture and corrals when we feed the horses; apparently he thinks that the feed they dribble is a delicacy, as well as, erm . . . 'processed' feed and hay. But usually he's just come in and drank a bunch of water like it's going out of style and then -- uh oh!

Either in the kitchen or bathroom every time though, we can't figure out why. Though I have joked it would be nice if he could learn to aim for the toilet instead of the floor :p

My cats do the same thing! Sometimes if I catch them quickly enough, I can run them to the bathroom and have them hurl into their litter boxes, or at least on the floor vinyl rather than carpet or upholstery. But what's with that backing up and puking all over the floor?! Grr!

Our cat is pretty bad about where she decides to hork. I've been awakened in the middle of the night by her jumping on top of me and starting to hork...usually I have the presence of mind to kick her off the bed before it comes out. On the other hand, I've found that if I put a towel or dirty shirt in front of her when she starts (on the floor, not on the bed), she'll usually stay put and hork on that. It's a lot more effective than trying to move her.

Can't live without 'em, can't make 'em clean up their own damn mess!!

Luckily my cats don't get hairballs too often...don't know how, considering the amount the girl sheds! :hairpull:

I used to try that, and the little brats would move their heads away from the towel or newspaper so they could puke on the floor!

My mom's dog often does the "I just drank too much water, so now I'm going to get worked up about a toy and yak up a bunch of water-y vomit just for you!" business. Real charming, and a pain to clean up off of carpet.

My kitties, on the other hand....well, Franzia rarely seems to puke, far as I can tell. Lily seems to make it a point to always find some carpet, preferably in the room I'm in, to make her statements on. On the, erm, bright side (?) Franzia seems to enjoy cleaning up after her, so I rarely have to do more than swipe the carpet once with a Clorox wipe...unless I catch it before Franzia and spoil her fun.

Meeko did that this morning. I got up to grab him and put him outside and he ran away so he could keep yakking on the kitchen tile

I remember driving home from from college with a old friend of my family and her cat. I once looked back at the cat and thought "Where did the spilled chili come from?"

"Jenny, I think she got sick...."

*FAINTS*

I was stepping out to feed the kitty this morning and Meeko was wanting to go out with me . . . so he could puke. He actually purposely went outside to do it! Guess it must have finally sunk in that we don't appreciate his pools of sick in the house.

Bulimic? Nah, I think it's called eating horse poo ;)

Could be worse. One of the poms we're fostering seems to have GERD (reflux) that's really bad at night. The problem? He likes to sleep on my pillow! I usually sleep lightly enough that when he starts yaking, I can sit up with him till it stops, but on occasion, I've woken up with wet hair :puke:

As for the carpeting  eventually, I'll get it all replaced with vinyl tile. The animals are more important to me than the carpets.

Ugh. I had to deal with kitty puke last night. Snowie got up on the kitchen table...and promptly puked. Not on the table, but the chair, floor, windowsill...and even some things on the floor. Thank God it was a tile floor--most times she does it on the carpet, leaving a nasty mess for me when I get home
