If you can remember that is

My first job was at Target, it was a pretty good day except for the fact that because i was new i was a bit slow, some sc's yelled at me to go faster and called me a stupid little girl (I was 14 at the time).

I lasted there for 3 years

I can't really remember. I was 14 years old. I had to wear a puffy blue peasant top, a red Swedish looking skirt, nylons, white socks and white shoes. And a bonnet.

It was a Scandinavian restaurant.

Save for the hideous attire, everyone was very nice and made me feel welcome. I stayed there until we moved when I was 16.

Oh god. 14 years old and at Dairy Queen. Ick. I lasted like 2 months. Not my type of job at all. Hate fast food. :P

Ny cosmic bad luck, it was on my 17th birthday. It was at the A&W, and I worked from 5-8. It seemed really busy, although in retrospect, it was probably pretty easy. Apparently I impressed some people, and I stayed at that job for about 2 years.

I worked a few hours after high school let out watching elementary school kids in a latchkey after-school program. I don't recall the first day, but the job only lasted two weeks because I was tired after MY schoolday and these kids just exhausted me. Naturally it was always when I was catching my breath that the supervisor would admonish me.

My first day of my first job was at KMart.

It wasn't as bad as you'd think, even taking into consideration that I was in Layaway. :runaway:

I got the bare basics of being trained there, got yelled at my first weekend for stuff I didn't know how to do and quit within two weeks.

I don't remember first day of first job . . . .

But I do remember my starting at one of my jobs. Day 3 I finally mentioned that I needed to use the restroom and would someone please tell me where it was.
It was an odd set up . . .the stairs and elevators where in the center and the company had the whole floor. (Think doughnut but square) Basically the office I was in was right next to one of the entrances from the lobby so it was easy to find.
Apparently the manager thought the co-workers would show me arround and co-workers thought the manager had given me a tour.
I should have seen the flags and quit at that point. Neither of the two co-workers wanted to show me anything . . .they thought a third person wasn't needed . . .where as the techs who were creating software liked having the extra "user's" perspective. (Let alone managment knew the two of them were not keeping up with the workload that was increasing weekly.

What's the word I'm looking for...

Bah. A smiley with have to do.:help:

I was working on till during christmas (Do I need to go any further? yeah I do) and had every single type of available transaction for the position go through that day. Here's a running list:

Sales
Staff Purchases
CC Payments
Layaway
White Goods (which has the most messed up system I have ever seen)

As well as any available mix of said transactions, ending with a staff white goods purchase, and me being 1 min from going home (the transaction takes about 10 mins) What was I trained for (for about 30 seconds no less)?

Sales

Yup, that's it. Gotta love the training on that day.

I got a call at 5pm from my manager asking me where I was because my shift started at 4pm. I thought I started at 8pm. Whoops.

I came in and everyone treated me like shit because I was late. They asked me to stock shelves without telling me where anything was or how to properly identify products with corresponding tags. Needless to say, I just walked around for five hours, confused, holding a bottle of shampoo that I couldn't find.

I lasted 3 years at that job.

My first day was working at a local pizza joint. Well my first day, was the day that I had to fill out the W2 forms. Didn't know I was going to be working that day. I had to call my GF at the time to not come pick me up. I liked the job and only have 1 SC story out of it. I left shortly because I was working 2 jobs and one was working 9 hours a day, pushing carts at WalMart.

My first regular job was a grunt at a barn, my first paying job was at a self storage unit. Being a barn aide/grunt/rat was fun. I just started helping out before and after my lesson, then showed up on days I didn't ride.

The self storage unit was... interesting. I was 17, and the owners only had one person on shift per day. So I would sit in the office and surf online from 8-6 on the weekends. My mom worked there, too, and just showed me around.

I kinda miss that job. $9/ hour to do nothing except the first and last week of every month. And I got to play with a golf cart. But... there were people living in some units, all the sites were in bad parts of town, there was a prostitute using her unit for work at the one I usually worked, lots of drug paraphernalia. And there were homeless guys who would sleep in the public restroom. Yeah. I'm glad I don't work there anymore.

My first job was working in a deli in a grocery store. I was hired the day after I turned 16.

I was told from another coworker that the hiring manager only hired thin girls with big boobs. I should have quit right then.

No one really showed me how to do anything, but complained that I was slow. I was told to use the slicer, even though that was a big no-no, since I was a minor.

I cut myself on the slicer and was told to get a band aid and get back to work. Luckily, I didn't cut myself that bad.

I lasted a couple of months, before I got sick of the illegal bullcrap that was going on and quit.
