Recently, one of the two rock stations in Orlando changed formats. It is now known as "Sunny 105." The station now plays classic rock/soft rock from the 60's to the 80's. Congratulations! Your station sounds just like the other 4 in Orlando.
This leaves us with only one "rock" station, and they weren't that good to begin with.
So now we have one rock station, 3 Latino stations, 5 oldies stations, 4 religious stations, about 6 country stations, a dozen or so rap/R&B stations, and Real Radio 104.1, which is the station I listen to the most.
I think it's time I went back to satellite radio. Yes, I will have to pay, but at least I will get the music I want to hear.
I mean, you can only hear "Sweet Home Alabama" so many times, ya know?

are you able to webstream on your computer at all?
If so, go to www.92kqrs.com and webstream them for free. They are local for me, but they are the TOP station for classic & new rock here. And their morning show is also #1, if you care to listen that early.

Sounds a lot like NY radio stations.
I feel your pain.

I also feel your pain.
Sounds an awful lot like Milwaukee radio.
That is why I try to tune in 94.1 JJO out of Madison. WOOO HOOOO. Man, even tiny little Appleton has a better rock station then Milwaukee.

Hehe......Here in omaha we have a lot of diffrent radio stations. Including a radio station run by a collage that plays local music, and stuff off the entire album. Then we do have a nationally known music scene. lol.
Saddle creek records and all.........(i live three blocks from saddle creek)

^^^^What she said!! I love the River. I mean seriously, who else is going to even mention Kotton Mouth Kings let alone play them? And being able to hear Plecostomus while partying with friend who is in said band is trippy as heck.
If you do want a good one to listen to via computer, I recommend z92.com. They play a great mix of current and older (jamming out to Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper right now).

You can't turn the FM dial without hitting a country station or 10 around here.
There's one rock station. And it sucks. All they play is non stop rotating Metallica, Linkin Park, and Foo Fighters and Ozzy/Black Sabbath. And all you hear for commercials are ones for the seedy tattoo parlors and Hepatitis C infected bars.
There's two identical classic rock stations. I don't see why there needs to be two, except one has the Bob and Tom show in the mornings.
There's a "blend" station that plays 80s 90s and now.
And one popular music channel. They talk about Britney Spears 24/7.

I can't recommend satellite radio enough. When I bought my car in '05, it came with a trial subscription, and we've not been without it since.
The local stations here are mostly country and crappy rock and stuff from the late 80's and early 90's, and a pop station or two that plays Spears and Timberlake most of the time. We had one oldies station, but then they became yet another 'mix' station. That is, when the stations play music at all. Mostly it was just commercials for local businesses for ten minutes, a song or two, rinse-lather-repeat.

Damn. I thought that was just a 'Burg' thing. Seriously--Pittsburgh has a *serious* Skynyrd fanbase up here. Just about every station here plays that song at least once a day
As for morning radio, well, that just sucks. I mean, put on something useful, dammit! Things like the traffic reports, weather. Anything but the chit-chat, Hollywood crap that's on now--do we really need an hour's coverage of what Britney ate (or shot up with) today?
