I was surfing around on the internet and a fullpage popup appeared. It's the kind that's loud and bright and won't let you leave, not to mention gives you the feeling it will install a virus in the next 5 minutes. A window appeared on it and said something like "If you would like to leave, press OK. If you would like to stay on the current page, press Exit." I'm pretty sure those buttons are supposed to do the opposite. I had my cursor on exit when I reread the window and was like "Wait a minute..." Nice try, popup! I pressed OK and went back to the page I was on. Make sure to read everything before you press any buttons, people!

I probably would've just closed it via the start bar or task mgr.

Yeah, I could have done that. I just hate when they try to trick me. It's like when they have two corner X's and one is real and the other is fake.

My favorite surfing keyboard shortcut for when I have to deal with popups: Control-W (Apple-W for you Mac folks).
Course, I get less of them using Firefox.
Anyway, just remember the keyboard way to close a window, and ignore the contents of it.

Thanks to Firefox I haven't had a popup in ages. n_n I don't know how many sites still use them 'cause I'm completely oblivious to them.
I love this browser so much. :3

I love Firefox for that reason. Well other reasons also, but still. I hate those ones that will slip through now and then
The last time the computer at my parents' house crashed, it was like the typical Apocalypse of pop up ads. I mean, hundreds of them started popping up. There was no way of getting rid of them all. No matter how hard you tried. And then a warning popped up. Then we just shut the damn thing off. And it wouldn't return to Windows.
Damn, that was scary! It was like the pop ups were an army ambushing me!

That's why I have a pop-up blocker.

From what I hear, peeing on the computer is just as effective. This is why I stopped listening.
Edit: Throwing poo at it may help too.
That may not work if you're a girl.......
