So my wife is a big fan of Build A Bear Workshop. For those not aware, it's a big store where you build your own stuffed animals and dress them in almost any outfit imaginable. We've taken the niece/nephews there and we go on our own once in a while too.

What kills me is that for the second year in a row now they've had a Super Special Very Limited Edition animal for Groundhog Day, and they must only make like 5 of these things. This year's version went on sale 1/25/08 and by 12:30 AM it was already completely sold out on buildabear.com. Last year we struck out in the stores, and my wife is hellbent on having one this year. So I end up finding one on eBay and having an inner "Deal or No Deal" moment where I decide paying almost 2x the original price was worth not having my loving life partner drag me all across God's creation to find one.

Plus now I can reenact one of my favorite movie scenes ever.....

That's awesome. I may up and get that. Already got my daughter a monkey, a dolly, and Rudolph. Build-a-Bear kicks ass...but yeah, it's pretty 'spensive. :p

I first saw a B-a-B last February when I was in Canadalandialand. BH, my escort, took me in for a look. It didn't take me long to work out that one that was a cheerleader could easily be modified into a hooker, and there really ought to be a pimp one to go with it, as well as maybe a Chthulhu version, as well as a robotic arm for a borg B-a-B...

I had too much fun there!

A Cthulhu B-a-B would be AWESOME. I know I'd buy at least ten :D

Oh dear, my uncle-in-law has an animatronic groundhog that dances to "I'm Alright"! Maybe you should try finding one of those!

I went to B-a-B for my 21st birthday, of all things. I still have the bear somewhere.

I'm going to take my 20 year old nephew there so he can get his ducky.

Does anyone know offhand if B-a-B has any stuffed sheep/lambs? My daughter couldn't care less about bears, but she's really into sheep. We went to a B-a-B in Bangkok, but there weren't any sheep so we made a cow. I'm sorta hoping if we decide to spend that kind of money on a stuffed toy here in Tokyo (if I can figure out where the place is- apparently there's one in all of Tokyo) that we can actually do a sheep this time.

I think my store carried those a few years back.

The buyers seem to have a hard-on for singing, dancing animatronic toys. That is how we have a whole 24-foot section of shelving occupied by those toys which went on clearance after Christmas.
