Excited, no. Too many D&D movies screwups in the past to get excited. Probably will watch it when it comes out, but not getting my hopes up

Apparently it's going to be animated?

I don't know if that's good or bad. If it was live action I'd guess it was going to be god awful. But animated I think it might stand a chance. I wonder if its going to be all CG?

Oh great, some how I just don't see forgotten realms to be "children" type movie. It might turn out fine if they go adult with it. But if they try to "childproof" the movie, it's going to be a pile of dung. It would be like trying to "childproof" a deadpool, cable, or lobo (really absurd reference there) movie

Dragonlance is more "adult" than forgotten realms, which would make it even more difficult. There is only a few D&D worlds that could be targeted to children. And all of them have been "forgotten" and abandon by WoTC.

I'm still not holding my breath, I have full expectation that it will be crappy. If it turns out to be good, then it's a bonus ;)

I wouldn't say "excited." Maybe "curious."

I read the books growing up. LOVE THEM. I still have the first tattered softcovers on my bookshelf in the place of honor, next to the Harry Potters, the Shannara series, other DragonLance novels, Neil Gaiman, etc.

The first D&D movie that came out a few years ago was decent. Then I saw the "sequel" from SciFi last year, and that movie
SUCKED
big time.

The movie I am really waiting for?

ELFQUEST

I've been waiting for I dont' know how many years for that one.
