Now that the Super Bowl is over with, there's some other sports events that I'm looking forward too.
On the 6th this week is USA - Mexico. One of the more heated international rivalries. And I look forward to once again watching the US trounce Mexico like we have been for the last few years. I will also look forward to hearing this chant: Hugo, Hugo, what's the score? dos-a cero like before!
And here's one that our Canadian members will like, Red Wings vs. Maple Leafs. An Original Six match-up and a good rivalry to boot. (You Canadians are going down :p)

Bah.
Now I can focus on basketball, and (hopefully) my beloved Suns FINALLY winning a championship.

Sorry Jester, Lakers inked Pau Gasol for the year. The Lakers are the ones winning this Championship. I'm going to be focusing mostly on basketball as the Lakers are my first love of everything sports.
I'll also be cheering for the Wild.

I heard that there was much cheering when Laker fans found out that Kwame Brown was part of the deal. :D
Seriously, I'm interested to see how the Lakers do - the projected starting 5 sounds good on paper, now it's just if they jell together.
As far as who's going to win the NBA title, I'm a little biased (just see my avatar).:) One of the best starting 5's in the NBA plus a young, improved bench should equal another lengthy playoff run for the Pistons.

Ah, who cares about basketball?
Less that two months until opening day!
13 days until the Daytona 500!

I think the Lakers are going to be a power house. And we needed to ditch Kwame Brown. Andrew Bynum will be back in 6-8 weeks. It's a lot of games, but Pau will be able to supliment until Bynum is back. Then when Bynum is back, Pau Gasol, Bynum and the love of my life Kobe Bryant in the starting line... sexy.
Can you tell I love basketball and the Lakers?

If the Red Wings play as well as they usually do, they should easily beat the Leafs. They suck this year.
Of course, the Leafs just beat the Sens on Saturday. We're really hurting with Alfredsson and Heatley injured.

Since the Indiana Pacers seem to be the biggest joke in the NBA, I'm really looking forward to March Madness. The IU Hoosiers (my daughter is a student there) have had a really good season so far and I wouldn't be surprized to see them in the Final Four:D

Ummmm we always have the Golden State Warriors. I think they hold the joke catagory.
And on another note....NASCAR is starting in less then 2 weeks. Ok you may now throw your various NASCAR/Larry the Cable Guy/Blue Collar jabs my way.

I know, it's sad because otherwise I would see a good game of hockey but then again when you grow up watching the Wings you get spoiled. But damn leading everyone with 84 points feels great. Now if Arsenal and Man U suffer some injury problems and Chelsea go on an undefeated streak I'll be happy.

Care to place a wager on that statement? :D

You two are obviously forgetting about the perennial joke in the league, the Atlanta Hawks. Although they are almost respectable this year, at just four games below .500. But let's not forget the New York Knicks, the biggest joke of the last few years in the league, or the Miami Heat, who are just abysmal this year, or the Supersonics, Timberwolves, Grizzlies, or Clippers, all of whom have worse records than the Warriors or Pacers.
It's so NICE to be a Phoenix fan. Only the best record in the West at the moment, and the third best record in the whole league. Nash and Co. are coming at ya, kids!
GO SUNS!!!

Less than 24 hours till USA - Mexico. I'm tempted to bust out the dos-cero chants but I want to wait.
Also Jester:

Yes, Detroit basketball.
A whole half game up in the standings on Phoenix basketball.
Of course, it probably helps that the Pistons get to feed on the weak teams in the East.......
