I'm probably just being paranoid, but I just thought I would ask.

I have recently won an item on ebay, and like all my other transactions on ebay, I paid the night I won through direct debit and sent the seller a email to let them know I Had already paid.

Now, that was on Wednesday. By Friday I had not heard BOO from the seller, SO I emailed them again to let them know that I had paid, and to tell me when the payment has gone through, and when the item is shipped. It's Sunday, I've still not heard a thing from this seller. Normally it takes 1-2 business days for my money to transfer, I know this as it's happened every other time I've done this.

I'm tempted to send another e-mail, that is a tad more confrontational, asking them why they have not contacted me yet.

The only reason I think I'm being paranoid is because this happened once before and all was ok. I had no contact whatsoever from a seller, not even when I received the item. So I'm HOPING this could be the same.

So...should I be worried yet? To those who sell on ebay, is it just me, or is this extremly rude and unprofessional behavior to completely ignore a buyer?

Have you checked their feedback rating? If it's less than 90%, or contains a lot of negatives then that seller should be avoided.

If that's ok, then they might just be bad in the communication department.

All the sellers I've bought from sent an e-mail within 24hrs. Non-communication for that long without good reason is very rude.

I'd give time for the parcel to arrive. If it doesn't, report them to E-Bay as 'item not received'.

I am assuming you paid by paypal, correct?

If so, the seller has 7 days to ship to be covered under paypal's seller protection policy, or otherwise 30 days as mandated by the FTC.

It is nice for sellers to communicate with buyers as to shipping and such, but it is not required. Methinks you are jumping the gun a little bit and there are some ebayers out there who don't appreciate receiving multiple e-mails from buyers asking if their item has shipped.

If you don't have the item within, say, two weeks, then it may be time to start worrying.

As a seller, I usually did not tell buyers when their items were shipped, unless I was printing the shipping label through paypal which triggers an automatic notification to the buyer. However I usually shipped the same day I received payment or a day later at the latest.

Nah I payed through Direct Debit, through my bank account.

Thank you Irving, I think I was jumping the gun. I just feel more comfortable when I get some form of communication to tell me that payment was received, but if you think thats normal then cool :D

and thank you Kat33auS as well. I'll wait to see when I receive the parcel. If they received the payment last week then it SHOULD take 2-3 days (according to their info) so yeah fingers crossed.

it should be pretty fast then.
the one time i bought anything off of ebay i paid with my debit/credit card so it went thru fast... (i now have a rating of 1 for "prompt payment" lol, but that's technically 100% so that's good)

i'd say give it a few days, after a week ask them... if no reply contact ebay to find out what happened...

I always pay PayPal with my credit card. I have been burned, and they won't help you unless it's over a certain amount. That way I can charge it back through my bank.
