There has been a light freezing rain here for the past several hours, enough to make driving home a 9.5 on the Sh*t-o-Meter. What made it finally get to a 10 was I get home, carefully try to walk on the "snow" beside the glistening sidewalks, and five feet from my door, I slip and fall HARD on my butt. :(:(

I am wishing SO HARD RIGHT NOW for SPRING!!!!!

I feel for you. After a crappy night at work last week, one of my guy firends who lives in my apartment complex invited me over. After stopping for a few 40's of beer and some Pizza Rolls at the 7-11, I parked by my apartment and started walking to his place. Just when I thought I was safe, and pulled out my phone to call him so he could buzz me in, I wiped out completely and besides bruising my butt, I also nailed my knee, ripped one of my bags and busted a few fingernails. That sucked.

I don't mind the snow. It's just the ice that kills me.

I woke up with a mildly sore behind. I realize it was midnight when I got home and there would be no basis for expecting the management company to have salted the walk that late, but it still royally sucked. I'm fortunate it wasn't worse.

Last night, the man of the household braved the snow mixed with freezing rain to pick me up from work.

He slipped and fell on the driveway and bashed his knee against the (short) concrete wall. How he did it, I'm not sure because he would've had to have been backwards for it.

I blame my coworker. :p (j/k) If she hadn't needed/wanted to be off from work, it wouldn't have happened. My usual days off are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

and to those of us whose job it is to brave this kind of absolutely shitty crappy weather every shift they work (during with winter) please remember to be extra kind to us.

now if I could get people to shovel or plow the snow, salt their walks, chip away at the ice sheets on their walks/driveways/pourches/steps/roofs/etc and get the city to maybe lay down a TON more sand/dirt on the roads.

the bad thing is my car's suspension is now almost shot not because of road potholes (those are part of the cause) but the compacted snow bumps and ruts caused by the city not plowing in atimely fashion

Ouch. This morning I had to tiptoe my way down the sidewalk and across the parking lot to my car. My complex didn't clear anything and it was pouring rain and everything was covered in 1-2 inches of slush and water. I wished I had a polar bear to swim me to my car. My pants were soaked on the bottom when I got to work.

Absatively. :D And drinking them made me feel much better about the whole thing.
