Has anyone here had laser hair removal?

Just wondering if anyone has tried this out. Does it hurt? Does it work? Inquiring minds want to know!

I've never done it. I've considered it, though, since from what I've read I'm the perfect candidate. Apparently it works best on people with light skin and dark hair, because the laser picks up the dark color, and the less contrast between your skin and hair color the less effective it is. Though I think they may have developed other lasers as well that work better on darker skin. From what I understand it feels like a bunch of rubber bands snapping against your skin. I guess it depends on your tolerance for pain.

Doesn't sound terribly pleasant, though I can't imagine it being all that much worse than waxing. There's a place around here offering "buy one area get the second area free."

If you decide to go for it just make sure you do your research on the facility. You might ask your doctor or a dermatologist to recommend a place. I've read horror stories about burns and scarring and such like. When it comes to things like that, cheaper isn't necessarily better.
