View Full Version : Anybody here ever had problems with Amazon Orders?

I placed an order for a DVD Boxed set through Amazon.com back on the 18 of January, and even after waiting the 5-14 business days, and then some (now) my order has not yet arrived. I've emailed the seller once, this past Sunday, and again tonight and have not gotten any response (not that I expect one from tonight's email yet).

I've never had an issue with Amazon orders before, so I'm not completely certain how to proceed, if they don't get back with me, or refuse to find out what's up with my order. It was sent "media mail" which is the slowest form of mail in existence, but it really doesn't matter. They should have arrived by now. Next Monday will be a full month since my order was placed.

Any suggestions?

Doesn't Amazon have a tracking feature? Is there any way to cancel your payment? Is there any way to find a phone number for a live person? If no to all of the above, just keep emailing.

I've never had a problem with Amazon, but you may want to look into another company if they won't resolve their fuckup.

Hmm...I've never had a problem either, though I have had some things come through quite slowly, especially when shipped through third-party sellers (i.e. used books, etc).

I would contact the seller once more, requesting at least to have tracking information, and also contact Amazon's customer care, to see if there is anything they can do to help.

Depending on how you paid, I'd also mention to the seller the possibility of cancelling/disputing the charges/payment.

Good luck, and I hope it shows up/the seller contacts you with info soon!

The Amazon marketplace is just like ebay. The only difference is that you're not bidding on an item. You find the item you want, you buy it. It's a lot like Half.com.

You're pretty much at the mercy of the seller till the obligatory time passes. Then you have to deal with resolution service with Amazon.

I bought an item through the marketplace - Kyo Karo Maoh Season 1 v. 4 special edition set. When I got it, it looked like the box had been dropped, sat on, stepped on, and pretty much destroyed. It took me forever to get my refund because the seller didn't want to take responsibility for the item. I finally contacted Amazon asking them if they wanted pictures of the item. I got a refund from Amazon, and I can only assume that Amazon went after the seller to get their money back.

I will never use the marketplace again.

No contact numbers that I can find, just the email option from Amazon web site.

I sent them another email tonight, which means they won't get it before tomorrow. I stated that if I didn't at least get a response by Friday, I was going to take it up with Amazon directly. I don't care what the problem is, so long as they at least respond to let me know whats going on...

Tracking depends on the way they ship it, if I'm not mistaken. This is being sent by USPS Media Mail, so no tracking number was given. Amazon does note that it will not offer refunds if you work outside of their payment system, which I didn't in this case.

What is the obligatory time in this case? I've not found it (although I'm still looking).

By the way, the boxed set I ordered was the original Bubblegum Crisis series. :D

I've also been looking at the feedback for this seller, and although they have an extremely high rating, the few negative comments I've seen all have one thing in common, the seller refuses to respond to emails. *sighs*

sounds like you tried emailing the sender
if that doesn't work contact Amazon themselves.

they're good about taking care of stuff like that.

*nods* Yup, I emailed them not once, but twice, and still as of tonight, no response.

I just finished filing a claim. To answer my question from above, the minimum amount of time to do so is 3 days after the latest estimated arrival time. I've given it a week, and Monday makes one full (calendar) month since I placed the order.

I also went ahead and gave feedback. It was not positive.

We'll see how it goes from here.

Well, here's an update on this, for anyone who might be curious:

I received an email from Amazon today informing me that my refund had been processed, and I should see it on my next CC statement. Since it was a debit card, I should see it once it comes in.

So now, I can go back and try to re-order the boxed set that I originally wanted. Since I've already planned to spend the money. It'll just cast a bit more.

So, cheers for Amazon customer service! Hopefully, whatever problem that particular seller is having is straightened out soon.
