HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYBODY!!!

What are y'all up to today?:)

Well, to start with I'm off from work today.

We have snow on the ground from last night and roads are messy, so it's starting out kinda quiet.

As far as plans go . . . I figure the b/f will be showing up sometime today (he's working later today, as he ended up working late yesterday) and we may be going out for lunch . . . unless we get distracted otherwise.

Other than that, it'll be the usual day off routine: hang out on the laptop awhile, mop the laundry room floor/do laundry/bathroom needs sprucing too . . .

That part never ends . . I need a self-cleaning house.

Well, my girlfriend and I have only been together for 12 days now, so it really wouldn't be appropriate for us to do anything big. She also said she thinks Valentine's Day is a stupid holiday, which I agree, so we aren't doing anything. Plus, she also is doing her internship currently and Thursdays are her late days, so she won't be back until 7-8pm. She has to get up at 5:30am tomorrow and I have to be up at 7am so we will just wait until tomorrow night to hang out.

On that note, despite her not wanting to do anything, I got her a small bag of dark chocolates and some dark chocolate Hershey kisses. She loves her dark chocolate. :D I'm going right now actually to borrow one of her roommate's keys so I can get into her apartment so I can put them on her desk.

I'm spending Valentine's Day alone. I'll probably buy a big box of chocolates and eat all of them while watching whatever's on tv.

Studying for a test in Japanese history (today) and studying for a Japanese oral exam (Tomorrow). So nothing romantic in the cards.

I work tonight (wine stores on Valentine's Day are insane) so my husband and I went out for dinner last night.

And he had roses delivered to our door this morning! He's so sweet.

I bought him some of his favourite candy and stuck it in his briefcase this morning with a note.

Part of me is waiting to see if the ex will actually make good on his "promise" to build an AC-powered vibrator (why he is doing so, I know not...then again this is the guy who tried to use his cell phone in the shower so it seems the "anything wet + anything electric = bad" equation has not sunk in...you don't need to be a licensed electrician to figure that out).

Other than that, probably order a pizza and watch TV with the cat. Might participate in a Ghostbusters chat-RPG session if the GM is planning something ("the world will end on February 14th in the year 2016").

I'm finishing studing for a Botany exam (today at 2) and afterwards I'll be studying for my "Teaching Christian Theology to Young Adults" course.

I'm happy to be single right now, I'll say that.

both my GF and I have to work today. I work delivery tonight and with the snow expected here in NE Wisconsin I KNOW it will be a busy night -- why dress up and get messy when you can stay at home, order delivery and get messy at home LOL:D

hopefully the tips will be good with the bad weather, good moods and everything.

Kristin thinks she's coming to my job for a few minutes so we can eat in the car (I work from 3-11pm). But when she gets there, we'll actually be going into Building 3 (nothing in there but a bunch of surplus office furniture) where I've set up a table and chairs, roses, and candy/card. Unfortunately no candles since I don't think corporate would be happy if I set off the sprinklers :p

Well, miracle of miracles, a Thursday that I don't have to work.

I'm going to sit at home most, if not all day. I hope to dye my hair later.

I have low expectations for romance tonight. Please, don't ask.

I have a job interview this afternoon. It's really ideal for me in so many ways, I hope I do well.

After that, probably nothing. Just maybe watch a movie or read a book.

This morning, I dragged out my crock pot, lined it with a slow cooker liner, and went about putting spaghetti sauce, adding spices, a can of mushrooms & 2 1/2 cooked Italian sausages cut up and dumped into the sauce. I also made Devil's Food pudding for dessert. I even bought a bottle of Sutter Home Fre wine. That is my Valentine's Day gift to my husband. He loves spaghetti!

I'm just going to sit at home and sulk, or go to SubZero Games and play DotA or Rock Band all night. I hate being alone.

Was supposed to go out with a group of people for an anti-Valentines day celebration at an Irish restaurant.

Instead, I'm on day three of a really bad cold finally able to keep things down while trying to prevent my lungs from escaping.

I'm being sad because my husband is working in California for the fourth week in a row and won't be back for another two or eight. He missed my birthday on the 3rd, and I may have to fly out to see him for our anniversary, March 19th.

Oh well, life could be a lot worse. I am thankful we have a great marriage anyway, but I hate that he misses so much of the little stuff. The little stuff adds up.

I have no idea what we're doing tonight, but I am off work today and am working on packing up all the superfluous crap in my kitchen that I can live without for the next week and a half.

Usually the hubby takes the girls and I out for dinner since we are all his valentines. I don't want to ruin the "surprise" and ask, so I just planned on having dinner in, but we'll see what he says when he gets home.

Good luck with your interview flybye!!:)

Thanks :). I just got back and I think it went really well. Whether they pick me or not is another thing but I feel like I did the best I could so I'm happy. If hired, I will be working the front desk at a vet's office. :D

After getting dumped multiple times  in the past few months...Valentine's Day can kiss my ass

I said that for years . . . especially after I had one break up with me right after Valentine's (Feb. 18 1995 to be exact was the first time Onslow decided to end things.)

Mine didn't quite go as planned . . . the b/f ended up going in later than he thought and didn't come in the front door until right before 8 this evening.

He just left a few minutes ago . . . he's got a long day tomorrow, and we didn't get to go out.

But it wasn't a total loss . . . we got distracted instead after we exchanged cards and gave each other a big box of chocolates.

I, too, am alone for Valentine's Day. Alone with all the makings for a killer Hot Fudge Sunday. Happy V-Day to me:roll:

I am going to finish watching this repeat of CSI (I missed Survivor, so I will have to wait until tomorrow night to watch that) and then going to BED. I spent the week making myself crazy (customers and co-workers didn't help) trying to get everyone else's Valentine's day to go smoothly. So, yeah, I hate this holiday. I never want to see another red rose again.

Well, I made cookies for the potluck lunch/baby shower my old department is having tomorrow (P's wife is due in a month). My roommate and I may have tested one or three each. Chocolate chip. From a log. :p Yesterday I stopped at the grocery store to get the cookie dough and decided to get some flowers. Some kind of bright pink things that kinda look like daisies but aren't. Roomie and I are both single. No one else is gonna get us flowers :D.

I discovered that my mother was here during the day. She left a couple dolls, a "Daughter" book, a card, and some chocolate hearts that she made. All but the chocolates and the card came from my old room at parents' house. She gave me the book for Valentines day in 1998. She left them on my pillow. She also left chocolates for my roommate on her pillow, and a framed picture that I was going to bring from the house over the weekend, but didn't because it was really cold and windy out that night. Oh, and she did my dishes...

I slept all day. It's just another day for me. (Except that I woke up to turn on the news about 5-ish or so to find out about the little scumbag that shot up NIU)

And roses are so overrated. Carnations are the way to go, baby! (smell nicer and last a lot longer)

Carnations are my faves by way of flowers too. (Yellow, white & peach combo particularly).

Hubs was late coming home due to a last-minute meeting he had to attend. Kelly & I ate the pasta together. However, when hubs came home, I did share a glass of Sutter Home Fre with him. (I was the only one who liked it - it's got the aroma of wine & when you drink it, you're expecting the wine taste, but it's alcohol free).

He did however like the pudding I made. :D

I got a fairly hefty credit card bill. Does that count?

It came in an envelope and everything! I think the bank really likes me...

My husband and I are going out for dinner this weekend, when there is less of a crowd. I did get a lot of chocolate and a cute stuffed bear. Hey, I like stuffed animals, mmkay? :p :D

My co-workers planned a pot luck dinner for those of us who had to work last night. I made cookies for it. The dinner was great. It was one of the few nights that I wasn't starving when I left work.
