Please, everyone, send me all your good wishes, pray for me, and hope for no rain on Sept. 2nd!
I can use all the good luck and help I can get!
I'm scared, but really happy too!
Any advice you care to share for a first-time bride?

Don't sweat the small stuff.

Seriously.

I was just married in January, and there are so many things that can and will go wrong on that day that it just will *not* help if you get upset about it.

Let the mothers and bridesmaids do it for you. :)

Good luck, and I'll pray for any rain that's on it's way to your area to come to mine. It's HOT out here!

PS Don't drink too much water beforehand, towards the end of mine I was tempted to do the pee pee dance at the alter!

Yes, it's a very important and special day, but if you finish the day married, then the *important* part got accomplished.
"Perfect" pictures, cakes, etc., really don't matter in the long run. What matters is the marriage you're beginning.
Best wishes!

Congrats! :D

Just remember- it's your day! Really, most anything that happens will be remembered with a smile and a laugh when you celebrate your anniversaries!

Seanette got to it first, but it bears repeating... It's a special day, but it's just one day. What really counts is every single day thereafter - this is the beginning of your lives together, after all!

Relax and enjoy!! Congratulations to you!!

Not to leap on the 'things will go wrong' bandwagon, but ...

What will really ruin the day is something going wrong, and fuss being kicked up about it. Whatever happens, whatever goes wrong, let it roll off you like water off a duck's back. As Seanette said, if you finish the day 'married', mission accomplished. The rest is candy.

Thanks for your kind words, all! You have really helped me out. My rehersal is tonight..and I have been thinking about what I am going to write for my vows....I cry a lot, but not out of sadness.
I'm so lucky!
(and I will try not to sweat the small stuff!)

Congratulations!
Weddings seem to test problem solving skills, but the best skill of all is laughter in the face of the absurd :)

Have a good time, it's you're day!

Please tell me that I wasn't the only one that MST3K'ed my wedding ceremony in my head while it was going....

Depending on who's really planning/paying, either remember it's your day, or, my thoughts on the whole thing while I thought I was going to have the whole thing..

It's your parents' day. Let mommy do what she wants, because the only thing that really matters is that you get to tell everyone you know that you love the groom, and you get to spend the rest of your life with him. Nothing else matters than that.

Congrats!!

:grats: Hope all goes well, and even if there are mistakes, as long as you two are married at the end of the day that is all that matters. I hope you have a great lif with your fiancee/spouse-to-be.

Thanks, all! Tomorrow is the day! I just got back from the rehearsal dinner...great time, lots of tears tho. I will probably break into tears at any given moment.

Yes, at the end of the day, we will be married, and no amount of mistakes will stop that. (like forgetting the ring until after the shop had closed...luckily, the jeweler called me, and my guy arrainged to meet him in the area to get the ring) Disaster averted!! (nice jeweler!)

And since my fiance and I are older (I'm 47, he's 31) we took care of planning everything ourselves. It's our wedding...and I'm sure we'll love it.

Seriously, thank you all for your good wishes and advice! Pray for me and my fiance tomorrow!
Love!

Just so you all know...the wedding was beautiful, far more so than I would have believed!
The rain held off until after the ceremony (barely!) and the party was great. Everyone had a wonderful time!

Yes, you all helped! You gave very sensible advice...and things I tried to keep in mind while I was stressing out.
Some things did go wrong...but not things most people would notice. (like, with the cake...we ordered a three tiered cake, but it was not enuff to feed the number of guests. So , the bakery made another 12 inch cake, to feed about 40 more folk. It was the same, and was to be left in the back, to be cut up when the 'show' cake was cut. No one would know. BUT, the country club folks did not know this. They thought it was the 'topper' cake, to be given to the bride and groom to save for a year. A HUGE 12 inch cake...and we got it back at the end of the night. sigh. Best 200$ cake we ever ate. (actually, we fed it to our friends the next day, at the gift opening party, so it was put to good use!))
And the DJ made stupid mistakes. (played the wrong songs, could not pronounce names such as 'Edith', named my new father-in-law with my husband's name...etc.) But, they were little things, and nothing that made me crazy.
We had a great time, and anything that went wrong, or not the way we would have liked it, was not really that important.

At the end of the night, I was married to my best friend...! And that is what it was all about.:)
