of sorts...
Hubby, the neighbors and I had a nice, somewhat quiet dinner for Valentine's day. We ate home-made lasagna with home-made kalhua cake. Downed a few glasses of red wine... hell, we got so tipsy we even suckered my husband into a dress.
So we run across the parking lot to our apartment to take pictures of ourselves. (I was ubber manly and he was ubber girly) as he insisted to post these on Deviant art. As usual, I check the phone to see if there are any missed calls. There is one. From mom. Wishing us a 'Verry Happy Valentines Day Ya?!' She then goes on to say something about my sister being admitted into the hospital.
At this point, I freak out a little as my sister isn't due until late March. Its been a hard pregnancy (after several misscaraiges in her attempt to be withchild) for her and being the pessimist I am, I think of the worst. (Then again, I witnessed a family friend loose triplets during her eight month as she went into labor too soon and doctors had tried to retard the birth.)
Of course, I can't get a hold of anyone.
Ends up Mom and Dad were on their way to be with my sister and on the I-5 in the middle of the desert, the calls always drop with their provider.
All's fine. My sister got discharged early yesterday morning and has been placed on strict bed rest for the remaining three and a half weeks. She's not to go back to the hospital unless she starts bleeding (again, a nightmare as she's lost a kid like that), or her water breaks.
I feel better now that my parents are with her. Dad's leaving to go back to work on Monday but mom'll stay behind for a few months. I'm waiting on the approval for some time off so I'll go visit in March.
I'm both excited and petrified.. so.. send the good vibes!
