I'm in the mood for UFO talk...Some of the locals are up in hysterics about some UFO alien sightings. The latest one has some merit, I think. Some folks spotted what looked like a burning flying object in the sky; some people got pictures of it and even the fire department said they were called out about it by several residents. Well, no one is saying what happened next...Now, I do think aliens exist, but I don't think they are visiting my home area. What I wish people would realize is...

We are completely surrounded by air bases and one base in particular (one of the largest in the USA) does lots of sekrit! stuff. I really think that a lot of these sightings are probably just the air force or the navy testing out their latest toys. Often, they do ground to water or vice versa testing with rockets and what not. A couple of years back, we were all treated to a demostration of the MOAB--the Mother of all bombs. That was exciting to watch. I love a good explosion. Every couple of days, I get woken up by bomb testing...and the base is about twenty to thirty miles away.

There is a lot of helicopter training around these parts--actually one of the bases does all the navy's helicopter training. Helicopters can look strange at night, you know, hovering over the water...

I just wish people would sit back and think for a moment. We live in an area with an intense military concentration. There are going to be funny things in the sky and strange explosions in the middle of the night. Most of it--I think ALL of it--is military related. We will never be told what it is unless we'll see it anyway (like the MOAB), so...eh, stop worrying about it so much. 'Course, it is fun to speculate. I did see some pretty weird things flying around a couple of nights ago...

Anyone else have stories to share...?

While I do not doubt there's intelligent life out there aside from us I don't think it would travel however many billions of light years just to jam a cold metal probe up some hick's ass.

I'd give anything with the intelligence and technology to travel THIS far more credit then that. ;p

i have a story to share. Years ago, when it the whole family was at my house for a family party. Just as everyone was leaving, it was about 9pm. I looked up past this one house & I saw a UFO just floating in one spot. I ofcourse thought at first, that I was just seeing things. But the next day, my cousin called me up and asked if I saw it also.

Exactly. I'm sure some of the idiots they'd encounter would make them destroy the planet :D And now that I've said that...why is a certain episode of South Park, one that involves an 80-foot dish, coming to mind?

My ex bf was so adament that his father constantly saw UFOs in Mexico City. I tend to be a skeptic when it comes to UFOs, and he'd say "Call my dad and ask him. They are so common down there you can see them pretty much any time of night every night!"

One of my trainees about a month ago brought in a clip from the local paper, saying that there was a UFO somewhere down south, and supposedly military jets chased the UFO until it was out of sight.

Why not? We'd do it in heartbeat if we captured some aliens. Don't even try to deny it.

A fair few years ago, whilst looking out of my bedroom window I saw a blinking light (way off in the distance) that was perfectly still, it then darted around a PERFECT equilatral triangle before shooting off to the left from a standing start. Freaked me the hell out.
