My nephew, still only 5 weeks old, was born with a lazy eye. His doctor isn't too concerned, and neither are his parents. My brother-in-law was born with the same problem (must be genetic) and he had it repaired with surgery when he was 2.
But they try to get the eye to repair itself first, by forcing the baby to use the muscles more. And they do this by putting an eye patch over the strong eye for a few hours a day.
I've got to get pictures. He looks like a little pirate when he's wearing this thing. Its insanely cute.
