The $200 Civic held up surprisingly well - against an 18 wheeler. I was pulling over onto the side of the road - and the right tires went off the pavement. I overcorrected and spun across US-75 right into the side of an 18 wheeler. :dizzy:

It fucking hurt, but I walked away from the accident with only cuts from broken glass, some bruising from the seat belt, and a hell of a case of whiplash. The car is a total loss - the frame bent bad enough that the drivers side door won't open, the windshield is spiderwebbed, the exhaust now exits from the middle of the bumper, trunk won't open, etc. It happened yesterday at about 2PM - I'm sore as hell now, but glad I walked.

I was actually able to drive the car home too :o Granted, it drives like absolute shit, the back left wheel is shoved into the trunk and rubbing, the back right wheel is sticking out, and every wheel is at a different angle.

Rest in pieces, Civic.

Holy crap! That sucks, but at least you didn't get seriously hurt.

Glad you're not seriously hurt, that's most important! Whiplash is the suck!! Just remember to ice your neck 4-8 times a day, take something for the pain, an continue to move your neck. I'm on my second bout of whiplash for the summer, so I know the routine well.

Seriously, I'm glad you're ok!

Ironically, I have the car sold for more than I paid for it. Seriously - a friend of mine offered me $500 for it. He wants the wheels (which are from a 2003 Honda Civic EX), the engine, and the aftermarket exhaust.

Also took a closer look at it today - turns out the thing was a massive bondo wagon with a lot of rust behind the bondo.

$500 for a bondomobile? Bean, you are the dictionary definition of "stepping in sh*t and coming out rose-scented." ;) :D Very glad to hear that you're not resting in pieces, too!

Glad you're OK, Bean!
I recommend mass doses of ibuprofen, such as at least twice the label dosage. This was advice I got from my doctor after a car crash I was in, with the comment that in this case, what's needed is the anti-inflammatory property (of course, the analgesic makes things a bit less uncomfortable during healing).

Ibuprofen max dose is 800 mg three times daily. Be careful not to exceed that, your liver will thank you.

If memory serves, you need to make sure you don't take it on an empty stomach. That stuff can eat your stomach lining - am I right, all our knowledgeable folks?

Yea, Raps.

I always pop a motrin w/ something in my tummy.

BEAN:
Go to the doctor TODAY and document what all is wrong w/ the body because of the accident. PLEASE. Dont let pain and pride steer you.

Did Truck Driver get ticket for clipping you?

I hope the truck driver didn't get a ticket. Bean admitted to overcorrecting, then hitting the truck driver.

The real question is, what did the $200 candy-shell do to the 18-wheeler? Did it even clear the tires?

I know just how you feel. Last March, some jackass, probably drunk, sideswiped me at a high rate of speed and kept going. They never caught the guy, and if they haven't by now, I don't think they're going to. I had to file a claim with my insurance company, who totalled it. I got more money for it than I thought I would, but it sucked that I was out the $500 deductible.

Yikes MadMike, that is something else. I'm glad you survived that and I can't believe they didn't catch him at all.
