Have you ever "splurged" (read tax refund) on something that you really don't need but really want but know you're going to feel guilty on eventually?

So I clicked onto Woot the other day and they had Roombas for 100 bucks. Re manufactured (with warranty) but full kit (two walls, charger, back in charger, scheduler, et al) and only minor cosmetic problems. I bit.

Not only did I bite at that deal, I found out there's a thing called a Scooba. I found a great deal on that kit and grabbed it up. And this kids ends Bunny's adventure with her tax refund (well, I got a TON of groceries/supplies...we're stalked for the next war essentially).

I really thought I'd be feeling guilt by now but, I AM IN LOVE!! They both work better than I expected. Yeah I am having to run them a few times in the same area because our floors are horrid. I have to do that with the normal vacuum though. The scooba? I thought "Oh it will do a quaint little job and just have to go over it with a mop later". I've had to get two tight corners with my swiffer wet and that was it. Even the basement/mancave is looking nice and bright!

I don't mean to sound lazy. However while I can run these things, I have managed to get the rooms picked up, laundry/dishes done, stuff wiped down and meals cooked. The whole saving time so you can get more done feeling has me HOOKED!! Do you guys know of any other time saving "toys" out there?

Oh, and they're great cat toys too. ;)

I want one. Is it quiet? My vacuum is really loud. It's brand new, too. :(

Amazingly it's quieter than I thought it would be. To me it was as loud as an air cleaner. We had to turn the tv up a bit while it was running in the living room. But, it's nothing like a normal vacuum cleaner. You can hold a normal conversation over it easily. LOL you just have to watch your feet.

I swear when I was cooking breakfast this morning it made the oven it's friend. I kept having to double step to get out of it's way. The things are smarter than I'd like!! As DF says, "It's the Matrix man!"

I caught the beginning of an episode of (I think it was) NCIS last week, and they are at the crime scene and the one guy notices something moving under the couch and then freaks when it "attacks" his feet...of course, it was a Roomba...which was sucking up all their evidence. So another guy smashes it.

Tee hee, teeny tiny little update of which I have GOT to get video for.

The ferret officially met the Scooba today. If you know anything about ferrets, well she was on the attack. I think the Scooba was scared to death! Cloe kept doing the little war hop and chuckling the entire time.

Yup, I just bought a really expensive ferret toy. Go me.

^what she said.

It's a godsend Ginger. As we "speak" I'm getting the bedroom again. Sadly, the dust bunnies have perished. ;)

poor, poor dust bunnies.

Hey, if I get this new job I'm looking out- that STARTS at a grand more a year then I'm on and goes up to 4 grand more a year- maybe I can get one.

Hell, if Boy is allowed to do the referral thing with me (his company has a referral scheme. If he reccomends me for a job ad I get it he's gets £1000) we can get it, and a few other things!
